Tunnel to Germany-Quickest route

Just got back last night after touring around Germany for a couple of weeks. We had our last two nights at Kevelaer. Great Stellplaz. €9.50 per night including electric. Absolutely massive place. Was an American army base during the Cold War.
You do need to have food, drink etc with you as no restaurants or shops in walking distance. No problem with having chairs, tables, awnings out. Lovely lady comes around in the evening to collect the money.
Black and grey waste dump. Fresh water. There is a laundry but you will need quite a few 50 cent pieces to feed it.
Really interesting walking around the old bunkers.

Liking this thread not transferred our tunnel ticket date yet but our van only has a small fuel tank not done a long enough run to see how far we would get on a full tank. How does getting out the van to fuel up affect Quarantine if I wear gloves and a mask and use CC to pay?
Only you know that you have stopped

John has decided that we will be staying in the UK, so that's that. will get him to sort out changing the Tunnel till next year.

From the edge of Germany to tunnel isn't that far and is good roads, so will give good MPG. We did Germany to tunnel and then all the way home, and we only have the small Ducato tank. You are allowed to stop for fuel in a naughty country, but you would have to go to a pump that you put your payment card into, and not pay in the shop. We chose not to do this and just keep it simple.

What is the environmental zone sticker? Nearly got caught last year as so much of Europe is no longer allowing diesel vehicles into town. Germans seem to buy a disc like road tax that covers them for the year. does anyone know about this?

It's an umwelt sticker, we got ours last year in Trier from the TUV station

To be fair it's a load of bollox, how does having this green sticker make my van more environmentally friendly

Stops you getting fined in cities that have a 'clean air policy' for example, Aachen. The stellplatz in Aachen is 400m inside their clean air zone, the police can issue on the spot fines to anyone not having the correct sticker. I'm told they regularly check the stellplatz for defaulters.

I seem to remember my mate in Germany, who has the older classic Hymer (a “brownie”) told me that you can only get stickers subject to your vehicle’s eco state ?
