Transit chassis recall received today

Thanks, that was inside that opening as you suggested. I'm not sure which side it was, as I took a photo of each of them, but one matched the image that Jo-jo posted. No evidence of any kind of crack, so hopefully all will be well when mine's checked in a couple of weeks

Got the same problem and a recall notice from Ford for our new motorhome brought last june. Got it booked in for a Chassis inspection with ford in a couple of weeks.

Sleepy Joe If you scroll back to post #81 and have a read from there, you'll see more photos and details posted which may help you identify one of the areas that may have a crack.

Ours was given the all-clear.

I think Ford are looking for a crack, on the other side of the Chassis, the part that you can see through the opening in the outrigger. All the pictures I have seen have the same small dent on the inside of the Chassis member, as per your picture (including my own vehicle same dent).

Mine was checked today and given the all clear. Phew.

Hopefully everyone else gets the same result when theirs is inspected.

Has anyone else had a recall notice on their Transit? Ours is a 2024 mk8 and has a recall for a skeletal chassis inspection. The letter states that Ford are aware of a small number of Transits that may have damage to the chassis. Fingers crossed ours isn't one of the affected ones.

Just checking to see if anyone's Transit has been found to be faulty?

Only Kiffta has reported a cracked being found. But as they've used their 5 free posts, I'm not sure we'll hear back unless they pay their subs.
