Started getting “oil pressure insufficient, stop engine etc”. This happens when I stop e.g.at Stop sign(!), but if I keep going everything still sounds OK. Advice please. Fiat Ducato 2013 2.3 150 bhp.

Can anyone tell me how you get synthetic oil, what's it made of if it isn't oil?
It’s made by squeezing tree huggers and ‘just stop oil’ protesters. If you need to blend it you can add small amounts of ‘get off my land’ers to ensure it has the right amount of acid.
If you are getting low oil pressure at stops/ tick over I can assure you it's sod all to do with lack of of oil, real lack of oil,I mean very very low you won't have oil pressure the engine will go bang, could be just faulty info or cheapest thing to do is change oil, it may be diluted by diesel, otherwise have it checked out professionally , don't guess that could be more expensive.
Ps.you can usually know when it's real lack of oil is when you go around a corner or bend and the oil warming comes on that means the oil is not reaching the oil pump , I wouldn't recommend driving in that scenario, just stop and top up

Don't forget it's the oil being pumped at pressure that keeps the main bearings, bigend bearings, and other components away from going metal to metal, get metal to metal and in a few seconds if not shorter " possibly end of engine or servere engine damage even if you stop and then switch engine off " . I have not mentioned about the oil lubricating other components

Agreed, but I've been doing it less frequently with my ten year old Skoda Fabia as I've found that I never need to top up any of the oils between annual services, only w/screen washer fluid.
A pal with a new'ish Merc says that it doesn't have a dipstick and also said that there's not even provision for an owner to open the bonnet.................
The new Series 8 Fiat Ducato that I have doesn't have a dip stick. Just a level display on the dashboard. Would of preferred a dip stick Tbh...
