Removing the mechanism doesn’t require tools it’s a simple but firm grip and turn to remove it and make no mistake there will be Poo in it, nothing that hot soapy water won’t remove. 10 minute job.Lots of clues here. I may wait until I get home to remove the mechanism, but I can attend to all of the other tips here. Thanks.
+1. Helps keep the bowl & blade clean and fresh. Once a month I also squirt a bit of cleaning vinegar (the 8% stuff) around the bowl and let it sit on the blade for half an hour to dissolve any cal build up.a spray container from shower cleaning spray and filled it with the pink bowl cleaning fluid. Before and after using the toilet, we sprayed the toilet bowl with the fluid
I do as Lenny HB says but I also turn it over so it’s blade down and let it soak for a day or two in the solution. That's a good way I buggering it, some of the parts are nylon WD40 makes nylon swell.
The problem will be a build up of calcium from the urine.
A mixture of white vinegar and ctrid acid mixed with hot water makes a super descaler.
I always give mine a good clean at least once a year, after everything has been soaking for a while I take the mechanism out and give it a good clean with a toothbrush (hers not mine).

So thoughtful, but seriously WD40 and plastic are not good for one another and a silicon spray is the right answer. Someone also said that small amounts of wee can get into the retaining box and wiping out and sanitising this area on a regular basis helps. That's a good way I buggering it, some of the parts are nylon WD40 makes nylon swell.

We had friends stopping from darn sarf and the wimmins went for a shower and there was this almighty scream and when her hubby went in she had disappeared in a cloud of suds filling the shower cubical. We then generally forget when washing up and end up with a bowl full of suds.
If you get anything like it again, use a bar of soap in a bit of warm and it will disappear. Shampoo is a detergent, soap is not. It also works well if you put to much powder (or fabric hand wash) in a washing machine. Stop the machine, throw in a bar of soap, restart and it will go away. Those of is with looooooong memories will remember the early Hoover Keymatic front loader washing machine. If you put in standard Persil, Fairy, Tide etc rather than the 'Automatic' version you had suds everywhere coming out of the soap dispenser, the vents at the rear etc..... The solution was to throw in a couple of bars of soap and restart the machine. No I wasn't a victim, but had to go out to several customers of Curry's in the early 70's to sort them out!We had friends stopping from darn sarf and the wimmins went for a shower and there was this almighty scream and when her hubby went in she had disappeared in a cloud of suds filling the shower cubical.
She had used the same amount of shampoo she uses in the hard water area they live in and it had gone bonkers. Took ages to get rid of it
Easily on hereWonderful how a toilet thread transforms into 1970’s washing machines
Not missing helps as well!!Open the flap BEFORE you piss.
Minxy you really should get out moreSince hubby has been using a piddle bottle the toilet has been much 'sweeter' smelling ith a lot less cleaning.
No matter how good the aim there will always be some spray/splash back. For those who don't believe this put some tomato juice in a bottle and slowly pour it in from the same height as when weeing, there'll be spots of juice all over and that's not under pressure as urine would be.
+1, for the same reason.a strict sit down rule in the heads
Probably ...Minxy you really should get out more
Geoff
Do you have CCTV to police your policyHaving had boats for years, in order to avoid retch-inducing, seasick-making odours, we had a strict sit down rule in the heads (toilet). That way, no wee was spilled and left to fester in hard-to-reach places.
We operate the same system in the MH. Sit down wees mean that there’s no splashback and the loo compartment smells clean and fresh always.
I have a stream like that.Oh to have a stream like that. Would be interesting to see what an intermittent dribble looks like.
Try a 2pint plastic milk bottle, perfect. Remember to not put it back in the fridgeProbably ...
I've been doing some washes of laundry from our holiday which hadn't been done due to sorting stuff for Mum ... we use washing liquid and as I was putting it in the little tub I noticed the bottle has a wide neck so would make a back-up piddle one for hubby!
