THIS week I bought

Today, I was given the square root of naff all .................. again.

You may wish to know I bought exactly the same for everyone else.

I started this tradition many years ago.

Unfortunately the wife seems to have bought many things for many others and she has received presents in return.

I may have to rethink my approach to this festive stuff.

Happy bleedin Xmas everyone.

Went out and bought a diesel Smartcar,, great around town but what a slug on the open road, goes up hills and sticks a 3000rpm on hills which is quite slow in mph fine on the level but has a hate for pimples in the road. maybe the petrol 1000 would have been better It does an awful high MPG but not MPH.
Have now checked and there is a sensor fault on the Smart so waiting for the factor to open and then find it will go considerably faster that 3000rpm. It was cheap because the person that had it before me was frightened by a mechanic sukking air through the teeth.. I can do these things the Smart and the sprinter use the same (rather expensive) diagnostic tool that I bought for the Hymer, and carry it with me on trips. Nice little car and is quite recent too.

If it works in the Hymer it will work in the smart.. they are pretty standard.. Mine cost ( from memory ) £9 off eBay !

Just looked. this is the one I have

done all the smarties I have owned inc the new one ( 17 plate ), did the Toyota Auris high-bred, does the 2007 Fiat Ducato .. and quite a few other vehicles for other folk along the way :-)

According to the lack of cash in my wallet, i bought a lot of beer. A lot of beer.

Personalised 11-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi 256GB, with a Smart Cover and second generation pencil.

I persuaded myself that

My wife needed my existing ipad as my eldest daughter needs a lighter MacBook Air laptop. It all gets passed down here.

The second generation ipencil is a lot more like a pencil in feel and weight.

I wanted it.

I’m expecting it to take under 30 minutes to setup and migrate the necessary from this iPad to the new. This will be my fourth iPad, they have all been handed down through my close family, except the large iPad Pro that my nephew has at work.

For the Apple haters, don’t bother with the usual “banter” it’s wasted on me. I’m either brainwashed or happy that it all works x:-)

Nice.....

Ive had the 12” pro for over a year now and air before that, I sometimes watch tv on it rather then the normal tv in the lounge...

I had to go on the laptop the other day to update the satnav..... I could never go back to it as it would be like going back to the Stone Age for me... iPad is so fast and completely reliable and no antivirus problems...

I just don’t know how I managed without it, compliments my iPhone 7+ superbly.....

Have fun with yours...(y)

Took back the camera case Maureen bought me to exchange for one big enough for the kit..
I had no idea what she had paid but when I took in to the shop I finally looked at the receipt.
Bastards had over charged Maur by 300%
Gets better.. the guy had not filled out the receipt properly....... draw your own conclusions
Came home with a hard case that was perfect and correctly priced

So if you are in Cambridge area and go to a camera shop called Campkins on Kings Parade, be careful !

Some rather nice beer....
It’s outdide keeping cool, the fridge is full of food...

Yesterday we decided to take advantage of the fact that Lidl had reduced a lot of their Christmas choccies/sweets to half price here in Spain ... we mooched around and found some lovely chocolate bars with honey coated peanuts in them ... I absolutely LOVE chocolate covered peanut bars ... I was addicted to the mini chocolate log sweets as a kid so being able to get these was wonderful. :D

I decided to splurge and got 10 bars to last me for a while with 'strict' rationing (and sharing with hubby of course!) but we were delighted when we went to pay for them ... they were supposed to be €1.49, reduced to 74c, but for some reason scanned at 44c a bar! Back at the camper hubby asked if I wanted any more ... well, he didn't need to ask twice :X3: ... he went back and bought another 10 bars immediately then afer we'd had lunch I just couldn't resist and went back for another 10!

Oooooo ... it's soooooo yummy .... I've packed 29 bars away in the locker so I'm not tempted to nibble it all ... just the one bar kept out which we are consuming at a rate of a maximum 1 inch square chunk each per day. :p

I bought a living flame inset electric fire, removed our existing gas fire and removed the flue pipe from roof and roof space.
Patched the hole in the roof felt and replaced 2 roof tiles, job took me around 4 hours as I had to alter the fire place opening.
Last night I ached from every muscle and joint as I’d done non of this type of work since retiring 5 1/2 years ago.

Another note! 13 reviews and the only low score is from a numpty complaining it won't fully boil a kettle. I responded to the review that the spec clearly states 10 amp max! which roughly equates to 2.3kw max so I assume they were using a 3kw kettle. This at least establishes that the safety overload protection is functional.

Also avoid the square shaped units as they don't fit correctly with switched sockets
