Rally Thetford Bash is all go !!!

Those with reasonable memories will know that this weekend is when I hold the Thetford Bash.

It used to be called the Bird Bash, with live rock bands, rideouts, burn out cometitions, lots of booze and even more lunacy, all to raise a few bob for charity..

Sadly, we went from 130 Birds to about 4 ( which were supplemented with Funster motorhomes..
Now we have about 90 motorhomes and 2 bikes... one of which is mine !

Any ways.... to the point

From about 1pm today until next Tuesday, I will be at the rugby club.... In an emergency I can be contacted by fone ( though the signal there is flaky ! ) 0781, double 8, double 2, double 8, 7

100 portions of fish and chips ordered, 90 Sunday roasts, 12 barrels of beer, six racing mopeds, a bike that turns the opposite way it should and a load of balloons for a couple of outrageously stupid games ..... Not to mention my own personal stash of whisky... what can possibly go wrong ? ( aaarrrrggggggghhhhhhhh ! )

And yes, I am already running late LOL!!

Hi everyone Just to give you the "heads up" we have just taken on another rescue dog. She has been badly beaten and mistreated. We have only had her 4 days and will be bringing her along. When we got her she did not recognise any commands but had bonded extremely quickly, is settling in well. She is extremely scared of people and instantly cowers if someone reaches down to her. Jaws, auction items already packed xxx Is anyone interested in a secondhand guitar or violin. I think they are both 3/4 size. Son would like £30 each, asking as there are usually a lot of musicians at fun meets but will only bring them if anyone is interested. Safe journeys everyone

When arriving there is a clean hose as you arrive at the clubhouse just before you get to the check in tent. Needs turning on at the wall (5 paces) unlike last year when the tap was down the stairs.

I’m sure everything will be fine with your new dog our Spaniel pup came from a puppy mill, it took us two day before she’d let us stroke her she also was scared stiff of everything and everyone but she’s brill now see you at the bash

I thought you had fell out with MHF Gail I seem to remember last time I saw your van you had a sign in the window saying MHF was not fun or something to that effect, can anyone else remember that ?

Oh dear I think you got the wrong end of the stick. It was a sign a few funsters were given. It had smiley face with a line through it I think that said something along the lines no miserable motorhomers allowed - I think Jim gave it to some of us a few years ago.

Have always supported motorhomefun but in recent years we havent attended all the motorhome shows like we used to. We tend to park in the disabled area if electric is supplied and fly our funflag there. We still have MotorhomeFun stickers on the rear of our motorhome for all to see

Edited - I have found it - it says Motorhomefun.co.uk at the top and Miserable Motorhomers Prohibited at the bottom

My son will have his Land Rover Defender camper there so he can tow everybody out if needed, but we won't need that because the weather looks good for the weekend.

It's never been a problem. It's sand and flint under the topsoil so drains well.

Supposed to rain overnight, greyish tomorrow then fine.

A bit of damp on the grass makes the ped racing more interesting!
