The Simpson's Spanish Raid

The drinking water right above the grey and black waste?

Is that usual?
No, it's actually quite weird the way they have done it. The black waste goes into the drain under the round cover in front of the grey waste basin. The tap above the grey waste basin says it is drinking water but is what you use to clean out the toilet cassette. Over to the left is another basin with a tap that says drinking water, which is the one we used for the water tank filling. We had to use our large plastic bottles as there is no way to connect a hose on this tap, but on the other one there is. So I'm not sure who designed this setup, but maybe he had a couple of beers before outlining the design. There is also an elongated drain in the blue area which is where you place your moho to dump the grey water. So I'm not really sure why they also put a basin for grey water.

Soria today, still on the Duero River and a very nice place. We found a services point on P4N and did the necessary, then went on to a parking site next to the river. About 10 minutes walking distance to the centre of the city.

This looks lovely. The only place we know for overnighting in Soria is in the supermarket car park. Are the GPS coordinates on any app please

Granada today, a little cloudy but no rain. We stopped at the Area Camper in Cájar, Granada. €20 a night including EHU, seems a quiet spot with civilised neighbours so we'll stay for a couple of nights. Tomorrow we'll catch the bus into the city.

Yes, I found it on P4N we stayed in the lower part but if you go on a little, under the bridge, there is another zone. These are the coordinates: 41.762, -2.455.

And this is the van food lunch, lamb skewers with Ras al hanout, roasted broccoli and of course the air fryer roasties. Bottle of local wine too, very nice.

Day 2 in Granada, we went into the city. It's another Spanish city and this time I was not so impressed. It's a national holiday in Spain today and there were so many people around that it became unbearable for me. We found somewhere to eat, it was ok but certainly not the best we have had on this trip. I took a couple of photos but I just wasn't inspired today.

We sent this plate of ham back, because it was advertised on the menu as 'jamón de bellota' which it very obviously is not, but also because it seems to have been cut with an axe.

We arrived at Antequera today and are staying in a hotel carpark that advertises their welcome to motorhomes. Overnight stay is free and they will connect you to EHU if you want for €5. Fresh water refill is also free but there is no grey or black water emptying. Their restaurant is rather nice and we had a lovely lunch.

All your food always looks lovely, but without a translation, I have no clue what you're eating 😂

Looks delicious, please can I have details of the hotel?

We stayed in the hills above Antequera a few weeks ago that overlooked the Alcazaba. Are you going to have a look at the Dolmens while there. I find all that sort of thing most interesting.

Not sure yet, but I really would like to if we have the time.

Today we drove to Ardales, Málaga, to a campsite next to a lake. Camping y Apartamentos Parque Ardales €19,50 including EHU. A lovely tranquil site with wide plots and there are all the services including laundry, which we need right now. So, some van food was prepared and now some relax time.

This is a huge site and has barbecue areas everywhere, but you can't use them it says. Also many bench seats and tables, I guess they get used in the summer. The infinity pool is cool, but closed, as is the bar/restaurant and the supermarket and the reservoir is half empty. So all in all for €19.50 you don't get much. Moving on tomorrow.

We arrived at Arriate today, to a motorhome site provided by the local council for free. Large level area with water services but no EHU. It's on an elevated part of the town so the views around are very nice, it's also very peaceful. So we'll stay the night here.

There obviously has been rain here but as you can appreciate, it's gone and the weather is fine.

but you can't use them it says.
In our region they have removed all barbecues from rest areas & recreational areas for anything regional ,& any type of fire for cooking is not allowed even if it is your own external barbecue. A licence is required for a fire of any sort from November until April. Legally you cannot even smoke in the 'campo' around here.

Arcos de la Frontera today, at a camping site coz the missus wants to do some washing. So here we are at Camping Lago de Arcos paying €26 including electricity, which is not cheap considering we are in the low season and therefore the restaurant is closed. But the laundry room is operative and that was the most important for today. We had lunch in a nearby hotel which was rather nice.

There is a lot of 'Glamping' going on here, not right now but in the summer this place will be heaving. There are very few sites for motorhomes as it is mostly camping but it's fine for one night.

This is a mixed grill, they could do with learning presentation skills rather than just throwing the whole lot on a plate. But it was tasty so I didn't send it back 😀

Local plonk to wash it down, also very good.

I’m usually not to fussed on presentation, it all goes down the same hole….😎

That’s a lot of meat….😋
