Just smiffy got the generator lock off and cleaned up and working. It was the right key just siezed.

So we had a look inside , it looks in good condition in there from what we can see but not much room to do anything. For those with the same genny . Does it slide down in the cabinet or do we need to remove it to work on it?

Well that's all the polishing done ....bar the grp section above the windscreen as I'll have to do that from the roof leaning over .

The front nose came up not to bad using Feltwell grp restorer which I got last year. He has 3 different grades of it but I'd only brought the medium with me , the rest has been dropped off at uncle lennys by my sister and ill collect that before heading to Europe. So I used the medium grade and I'll admit I thought it wasn't going to do the job but it's brought it up amazing. I've even got a shine on the front bumper and wheel arches for now. Bumper still needs painted but I don't think I'll have the nose cone painted anymore as it looks OK as it is .. its smooth and shiny . The door will still need painting too.

But overall it looks the business.

I'll get the rest waxed sometime over the next few days .
Still waiting for my headlights so I can put front surrounds back on and I need to bond the stainless trim back on the bonnet. I'm well chuffed with it.

It now looks a 30k motorhome at least

Looking good Tam, should be proud of what you’ve achieved, hope the rest of the refurbishment goes well.
Hats off to you and Smithy.

It would be great if you could get that up and running Tam

Our 2.5 Kva Electrolux Traveller on the Hymer (same as the TEC), had a bolt in the middle front of the shelf, which you unscrewed to slide the Genny out. With the help of Steve and Denise, we replaced all the fuel, spark plug, pipework, and the carburettor with a cheap Chinese Honda copy. It worked a treat thereafter. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

The student has learned from the Master. 😎
Moby was different as we practically changed all the electrics in it. On this van I'm only fitting solar which I've done a few times before and fitting a b2b which is fairly straight forward. And relocating the battery but that's not complicated either. So there's no sense giving uncle Lenny HB any extra work when he has his own van to sort out. If I get stuck though I'm sure he'll put me right on the phone.

Sell that scoot and put the Harley in the big girls garage 👍
Too heavy to load in and out . To be honest I'm happy with the wee scooter for now it'll do for what I Need one for. I've only been on it once since I bought it lol. But it'll get used plenty in Spain

The thing with all this polishing is he keeps forgetting the blue/grey blob that’s parked in front of his van…😆😎
Don't let him move Do-Li until yours is in a fit state to be driven in public ... 😄

We got a few jobs done today.
Just smiffy went back on the roof , fed the solar cables down to me through wardrobe room and then while he glued the gland and conduit down I fed the cables through the floor cavities in to the large side locker where my electrics are , connected up the controller and battery so it's being charged by the solar . Got that done by around 2pm and I've got a bit of charge from the panel today.

Then he headed out with cintia and I wired in my TV power points and refitted the cupboard panel

20240917_191750_copy_1612x1209.jpg

And then wired up the big skylight to the 2 way switch and refitted the surround ...so that now works on a switch and I've managed to get some of the watermarks off using baking powder and water and a wee nail brush.

Took front panel of generator and we sprayed up the bolts with wd40 ... they're a little rusty so will give that time to soak in

So that's a few jobs ticked of the list.

Tomorrow if my brake pads arrive I'll get those fitted and the wheels and wheel trims refitted properly. And hopefully run the cable for the b2b and have a look at the turbo pipework etc while we're at it .

What size cables are you using & what length is the cable run?
