If I google Newhaven to Dieppe then it automatically goes to The Direct Ferry Website, put in departure dates, plus return if required and it gives me a price, but also an alternative ferry from Portsmouth to Caen with Brittany Ferries for a higher price.
Always best to go to DFDS site get an idea of their prices then ring them to get your 20% discount. The website is a bit flaky at the moment goes haywire when you go through a return booking better to do it as two singles.

Well what a lot has been done in the few days since I last viewed.
Well done both.
Oops thought I had posted this last night.
Just been on the direct ferries website this morning , ferry on 5th November at 11am from Newhaven to dieppe for Doc ,me and the 4 furbums... £179 . That's very good .

Now do I book it? And assume everything is going to be sorted out by then or is it tempting fate? Remember I'm a scot lol and the ferry prices go up the closer you get to your date and I dinnae like that lol.
We had to change our dates coming out was seamless and cost us nowt as there was an offer on when we booked

Just be grateful it's not based on dog size ... The way that Blu is growing you'd soon be paying 10 times that. 😄
Bit annoying when they don't even check the dog or , I should say , get you to check the dog . This has happened twice when going with Irish ferries

It's something I've considered.

But I've no idea how much folk would pay to have a motorhome washed and polished up etc . And I doubt I'd get enough to make a living out of.

I think we paid £185 to get ours cleaned in and out in Cornwall end Oct/Nov 22

Bargains!
Everything is so much cheaper in England than here, (hence I buy my cars, vans & campers in England! 🤣) you wouldn't get the cab of a motorhome cleaned and polished for those prices in Ireland, I think it's about €200+ for a Range Rover or X5 over here lol

My sister had her van done somewhere in North East England in 2022 full polish and grp restoration but it cost her £500

To be honest I couldn't do what I've done to the bodywork on doc for anything like £200 .. I've spent nearly 16 hours on this just polishing so far and I'm still not done .

However the results are like night and day from how it looked a few weeks back. It doesn't look new obviously as there's a few blemishes here and there but it don't look 20 years old anymore

That’s why i’ve been saying for 5 years that all these who claim to do a full machine polish, clay bar and Ceramic Coat in 1 day for 500 quid are bullsh!tters.

When we did my Comanche which was 3 weeks old it took 3 of us 5 days inside a warehouse so dry overnight and the products alone cost me £1070.

The total cost should have been £5400 😱.

Don’t get me wrong it still looked better than brand new when I traded it in but not worth that sort of money

To wash and polish a fairly new motorhome which has been done regularly would be a lot easier I'd imagine than vans that haven't been done for years . I spent around 4 hours just washing this last week. I reckon by the time I'm done polishing it will be 18/20 hours and then I've to wax it . And that's now doing it with a machine. It's hard graft aswell and perched up a ladder for hours . And then you've to clean the rest

So for £100 it must be an already clean shiny van that just needs a going over.

Even at the ridiculous low price of £10 an hour which is less than minimum wage I'm over £250 labour in this alone. Add to that the products to do the job .

Your using Farcella Wax & Auto Glym SRP products arnt you Tam?
I see from some of the threads on here that many are unsure what to use, Collinite is the fav, but some of those PTFE/Ceramic finishes are eye boggling prices.
Great Job looking good, well worth the hours of effort.

Yes I use autoglym super resin polish, occasionally a bit t cut on stubborn bits , and then farecla showroom wax over the top . I use the super resin polish on the windows too and then the wax. Makes them like new and water runs off. If you wash and wax regularly you should really only need to polish it once a year ,twice at most. The ceramic stuff I've no experience of I've never used it. When I worked as a valeter way back In late 90's it was unheard of .

Well that's all the polishing done ....bar the grp section above the windscreen as I'll have to do that from the roof leaning over .

The front nose came up not to bad using Feltwell grp restorer which I got last year. He has 3 different grades of it but I'd only brought the medium with me , the rest has been dropped off at uncle lennys by my sister and ill collect that before heading to Europe. So I used the medium grade and I'll admit I thought it wasn't going to do the job but it's brought it up amazing. I've even got a shine on the front bumper and wheel arches for now. Bumper still needs painted but I don't think I'll have the nose cone painted anymore as it looks OK as it is .. its smooth and shiny . The door will still need painting too.

But overall it looks the business.

I'll get the rest waxed sometime over the next few days .
Still waiting for my headlights so I can put front surrounds back on and I need to bond the stainless trim back on the bonnet. I'm well chuffed with it.

It now looks a 30k motorhome at least

What polish and wax do you use Tam?, it's coming up a treat👍
