Rally The Last Peterborough Show April 2023

We put the Marshall's shelter up yesterday afternoon. Took it down two hours later after the wind pulled two corner pegs out. :crying:

We have no control over who gets to our area. The Warners Marshals are in charge there. You need to speak to those guys whe you arrive. (y)
Could I add, that in the last two years, we have only been able take extra's when brought to us under escort by the Warners marshalling team. For health and safety reasons, Warners need to know in which area of the huge site, individual vehicles are parked. As marshals, we have been told off before for allowing others in our area without Warners express agreement.

Equally, when people have transferred to the disabled area from the Fun area, they are escorted by Warner's staff.

If anyone asks and is refused, please do not take it upon yourselves to drive down to our area.

Sorry, but it's not Funsters being awkward.

We just arrived. We are in the General Area. They are definitely worried about the ground. It is soft but drivable with care. There are tractors everywhere.

We heard from a Marshall on another club site that they are “packing ‘em in to keep the vans off the softer places.

anyone on site yet ?? Ground report..
About to leave home shortly, where's my towing eye.. :whistle2:

Apparantly good, unless u are an overweight automatic🤷‍♂️ eh Jackd 😁

See you about 1.30-2.00😉👍👍

A few now on site. Grass was wet on top after overnight dew but wind drying it swiftly. OK to drive on if you keep some momentum and take wide turns. No reversing so drive into pitch directed by marshalls and then onto mats or levellers if you have them.

Only one to get stuck tried to reverse so don't do that, drive forward straight onto your spot.

Hmmm. Doesn’t sound good for my 7 ton vehicle 🥲😬. Will be there tomorrow morning We shall see what we shall see

Any pictures? Be nice to see the MHF rally field 👍

Not long lads will be back for you shortly

Just wondering when the last time I went to Peterborough was and checked on my Blog. It was 2012... That was very wet one.
The majority of people needed a tow myself included. Surprisingly maz made it off after I had foolishly mocked her and tag axles :p :D

Some picture from that year.

That was the last Stratford I went to. They had moved us next to the building that year and no tent. Wasn't the same :(
I went to quite a few Stratfords but none that were wet like that so I must have missed 2014.

I got the chap running the Baked Potato stall, who had a Land-Rover County, to pull us out of the FUN area at Stratford that year.
The water lever was a third of the way up the wheel trims, and it was still raining. :whatthe: Once the front wheels were on hard standing, we sorted ourselves out.
Very little in the way of help was forthcoming from the show organisers, so it was a case of looking after No1. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I don't know how to let the Marshalls know that I'll be arriving on Friday pm rather than Thursday.

This is my first post as a new member so hope I've got this right. 🤞
We just arrived and are all parked up. We tried to get water and had to wait a while as they pushed a van off the spot after they got stuck in the mud. Ground is soft so we are fingers crossed we will get our Kon-tiki twin axle off at the end of the weekend 🤪.
