Rally Chat The 'fairness' of booking to attend rallies

It seems to me that the only issue here is transparent communication when advertising a rally. There appears to be ‘open’ rallies where all are welcome, first come first served, where the aim is mixed company, get to meet new people etc, and there are ‘invitation rallies’ where close friends, like minded people all agree to be together and if there is the odd slot left open then they can be filled with members outside that close clique, although why an ‘outsider member’ would want to go I don’t know. It is entirely up to the rally organiser what kind of rally they want and can simply state that when organising, after all they are doing the work and taking responsibility for it.
Out of interest, how do the sub groups work, are communications through social media outside of the main MHF forum?

Probably through PMs / start a conversation on the forum. Click on persons name and a drop down menu /start conversation.
If you look at the top of page you’ll see a envelope - if there’s a marker on it - click on it and read your message -

Gee, did you mean for that to come over as patronising as it did Eddie? 😳
You are welcome to take it anyway you like

Because it’s Fun. Jim merely pointed out that Fun doesn’t have any rules (other than those associated with safety) about how rallies should be organised/run. The discussion is eliciting both how current organisers do things and how potential attendees find the ‘booking’ process.

Why would you want to quell that discussion?

Ian
Yes some people get on with it and organise things, and the people that don't, want to tell the people that 'do', how to do what they do!

You’re reading something that wasn’t there; the OP wasn’t telling anyone how to do it.🤷‍♂️

That's all correct, except some people really are making mountains from molehills because the latter type you mention number just one or two per year. 99% of fun rallies are open to everyone. Anyone who logs in regularly will be able to get on them in they wish.

Well. 🤷‍♂️ You can see from these threads why you wouldn't want some " funsters" on your rallies/ meets if you had the choice.(y)

You do have the choice, You can run a rally for all your friends. Will you need name badges? Or will it be a rally for one?:giggle:
