The dark bowels of a toilet cassette

Mine's not too bad.

Thetford C220 series:

Might have know you would know your poo bowls intermittently.

Disgusting Admission.
Just found that there is a float thing that needs to be cleaned. Never looked at it before, didn't know it was there and obv never cleaned it before. Looked at it and it is uber-vile.
Need to get your Toothbrush out.

Obviously some of us know how to 'google' better than others! :ROFLMAO:

Half a dozen Minto's and a bottle of Asda cheap Coke - for that squeaky clean feeling........

As chief bog emptier I take it home a couple of times a year open it up and give it a really good clean. Recently had to replace the flap mechanism, easy peasy, once I managed to get one. That was fun it went while we were away, with utubes help I got the old one functioning reasonably well, but had to be caried lid up to the dump point, have a dodgy wrist and couldn't mange so John kindly? Carried it ti the elsan point and disappeared. Wonder who empties it when he goes away with his son or a mate 😂

Curiously enough, I've just been exploring the innards of our C200.
As above, there are loads of videos on You Tube on servicing etc.
About 3 or 4 times a year, I half fill ours with warm water and some bio washing powder. Leave it to stand on its base for 20min, then turn it onto its side for 20, onto its top for 20 then its other side etc.
Remove the slide, the two slide retaining clips spring off, remove the eight stainless screws and the seal and its retainer lift out.
This allows access to get hand and lower arm inside with a green plastic scourer. You will be able to feel the exit and all the gubbins. Refit the seal etc.

Incidentally, rather than using the pressure release button when emptying, I remove the slide all together and open the sliding arm. This makes emptying more thorough.

P.S. don't forget to wash your hands before the congratulatory tea & biscuits.

I think I'd prefer the tea & biscuits before, not after!

Blimey , I empty mine daily, yours must be HUGE 🤣😅😇

Put it on Video and just drop it in?? (Getting it out again might be a bit messy?)
Oooh live streaming poop thread, now I’m sure there’s a market for that somewhere in America 🇺🇸

Flashback to squares of Izal - thanks for reminding me :(

With the cut up Exchange & Mart one got much bigger sections and something to read?

I empty ours daily too, and have a bin for paper, which a certain someone is not happy to use. Wasn't particularly heavy but my wrist sometimes gives way and the thought of that lot landing all over didn't bear thinking about.

Why does anyone want to clean it out. It will be back the same the next time its used. Using bio as we do it stays reasonably clean.

No baffles but the bend on the emptying spout can be a problem😉 I have been known to remove that for easier flow.
Jesus...what do you eat then?

Wee do the bin and paper malarkey as well, but no from number 2’s 💩 you understand.

Did you see what I did there, with the wee 🙄😇😂

I try too but not always possible, can sometimes end up with 2 full cassettes to empty.
2 cassettes a day 😬🙄, you need to step away from the curries and tacho bells, just saying 😬😄😄😄

Anyone got a picture of the insides of a Thetford cassette?

I’m trying to understand what the baffles and internal chamber looks like to improve the efficiency of my emptying technique - instead of aimlessly twisting this way and that.

I’ve done obvious Google image searches as well as looking at parts diagrams with no luck.

Thought I’d ask before I dismantle one at some point.
You appear to have way too much time on your hands! 😁

We have three, now that’s a sh*t job when they are all full! 😳
