The beauty of Wild Camping and being me!

This encapsulates the differences. There are some that want entertainment from hour to hour, minute to minute, and some who just enjoy being there, breathing the air, loving the space. It takes all kinds, and we all call ourselves motorhomers.

I'm with you Phil. At least, I wish I was. Mind you, it's not too bad on the Algarve at the moment. Driving from Lisbon to the Algarve, we saw only 3 or 4 motorhomes. At Mikki's at the moment.

Where there's green and rivers there's usually rain
Best avoided then.
Since becoming a Motorhomer got to like parched dry landscapes because it means no rain.

Can never understand British caraveners standing in the rain with their brollys up trying the light the barbeque.

Nether can I Lenny, that's why we have our own separate roles, TinaL lights the BBQ when its raining, holding the brolly over it until it reaches a steady 180 degrees C, after all fairs, fair, I have the wine & beer cellar to see to, those nice reds to format with each red meat dish, those whites have to be chilled perfectly, and my beers are complex little buggers, they need special care at all times, complex combination of screw tops, metal tops, and ring pulls(y)
Then of course there is the Mappin & webb silver cutlery to polish & place, crystal cut glasses for wines & Aperitifs , linen napkins, with napkin rings to polish.
(now putting on yer M&S sexy voice, say this)
We dont just serve any old beans on toast, no sir, we serve Carthago Beans on hand cut spelt rye bread Toast.

This trying to be a Toff, doesn't suit me does it?, and when TinaL reads this, I will be drinking my beer through a straw:eek::)
Best wishes to all:D

I don't dislike rain and the sweet smell of wet countryside. Anything above 25 deg and I'm knackered.
I don't class it as holiday weather until it's above 30°:ROFLMAO:
Now we are older and go away in the shoulder seasons don't see 35° that often apart from when we visit our daughter in Thailand.:)

Must admit, I spent too many years just looking at "Dessert". Usually "parked" just offshore waiting to be discharged "over-side", at places tourists never get too, Dubai was like that when we used to "visit", now it`s the mega-rich "place to go", I`m told it`s just a Huge and expensive shopping mall?. So I do like a bit of greenery, so I`ll take a little rain so long as it`s of the warm variety not the freezing cold stuff we had this last few day`s!!. As for Morocco, I can see why the "Small boys" comment appeared, even back in the 60`s, it was rumoured to be a sort of "one stop shop" for the sort who should have their necks wrung at birth and for whom castration with a blunt and rusty knife, is just too good.

Thanks for the positive feedback.
Some pictures of the sunsets and the whole oasis from half way up one of those mountains.
This is our third visit here and we and many others who return here find it a magical place to visit.

Looks fantastic, just our sort of place. We’ve not been to Morocco yet. Maybe next year?

Just reminded me of when a group of us used to go on a bush camp out in Western Australia , we would be somewhere like this
8800977518622.jpg

about 2 or 3 hundred miles from anywhere , and make camp , get a fire going etc . and one particular couple in a range rover she would set up their table for two with a pristine white table cloth , (the only thing that wasnt "red dust) and full silver service inc different glasses , and china ! Most of the others were more "Croc Dundee"

It is a genuine question because from what I can see I would be bored out of my tree. We are sociable people and whilst not wanting to live in others pockets I do like to have something to do to pass the day.

I must admit a week of it was enough for us.

After the stunning drive up there, the mid twenties temperatures in february, touring round on the scooter, several 'sundowners' and beating Phil and Marc at Boules, we were off quick before they could get their own back :drinks:

I'm so glad you won the Boules competition. It must have been very important to you as you keep repeating this point. For me it was just a game between Funsters and like minded people. Who won was not important IMO, it was more about enjoying everybody's company and having a good time. I am genuinely happy you won.....champ!

I don't win much these days Phil!!

Nice to meet you, hope the rest of your trip goes well.

I would love it, the wife would hate it, no shops.:)

Hey @jongood take no notice of his apparent "not important to me" here's the smug bugger after beating me at Beertange :-)
