@Popeye I know it's nothing to do with me, but I see at the meet you are doing some charity raising at the New Forest Meet, and some of it for the charity supporting Myasthenia Gratis that Katie has, I was wondering as Katie has been through so much and so brave, if a portion of the money raised could go to Katie in Various Gift vouchers to give her something nice when she eventually gets out of hospital after 7 or more weeks. Maybe Top Shop / Boots / River Island / W. H. Smith or a mixture of them. I can't see as something nice for Katie would go amiss. Just an idea.

Great idea Carol, we will put on something special for that or just have a Katie whip round that I think will probably be supported more than a little generously. I will certainly donate and I don't think you, Mousy and I will be alone.

Just gone on Amazon and the plethora of headphones to choose from is mind boggling - I don't think you could trust any of us to get the right ones, so An Amazon Gift Card would be the way to go - brillo soap pads idea @Carol and @Mousy!

On arrival you will get a newsletter with all the timings etc and any useful information I can glean from the campsite.

Check-in is directly with the the marshals, so please come with your nicest smiles and be patient as we are newbies at this game!

Welcome Friday -an evening for meeting old and new friends, while enjoying wine and cheese nibbles, no need to bring anything (other than your best smiley face a chair and a glass) unless you don't like cheese and wine!

A Chinese Raffle will be held at some time over the weekend...watch this space for more details. All proceeds to be split between two charities to be advised.

Spooky Saturday - Witch and Warlock evening. Dress up as much or as little as you want and party with the Spooksters until your feet ache!

Sunday evening - A quiz followed by ..........more socialising of course.

We can pre-order newspapers, milk, bread etc with the campsite, payable at the time of collecting with the campsite. If you would like to take advantage of this please let me know which paper etc as soon as possible and I will compile a list.

Also I believe you can get jacket spuds, pizza and burgers from the campsite. Please arrange this with the site once you are pitched up.

VERY IMPORTANT - we must be all off the site by 12:00pm, without fail and with no exceptions. The site is closing and we must comply with thisrequest or you will be hung drawn and quartered.....not too extreme.....no I don't think so!

Here's a little reminder of the campsite fees, payable on arrival -Pitchfeesare £12.50/night, EHU is £5/night extra.
The deposit is £10/head & is for additional costs...marquee/food etc.

As well as the campsite fees there is a £10 per person deposit to be paid. You can pay this by bank transfer if you would be so kind, details below. Could you also let me know approximate time of arrival and if you are staying over in Sunday night too?

I'm afraid that they don't want you there before 13.00hrs or 1 pm as me mammy used to say.

I see the Camping in the Forest website says arrivals from noon, but Popeye says 13.00hrs. Is this later time 'cos the marshals won't be ready for us until then? I had hoped to arrive around noon so I could be pitched up, feet up, laptop running by 13.00hrs to relieve a colleague who by that time will be gagging for a lunch break before she goes off to do another job.

So arrival time will be noon Friday, unless not allowed on until 13.00hrs.
Departure will be Monday morning.

P.S. as your first victim, Sandra, I promise to smile sweetly, salute smartly & do as I'm told (maybe).

1. A Party Mood.....as if you're off to your very first date.......nervous excitement.

2. Some cash, it will help if you venture off site down to Mudeford or into Burley, plus we will be holding a chinese Raffle (whatever that is) to be run in the main by those two (Geraldine and Mousy) whose unmissable postings when they're out together will make you whinge with laughter. (They actually gate-crash Funerals). I will also be holding an Auction, so if you have anything you no-longer need and would like to raise some money (not for yourself) but for just-a-bout the most worthwhile cause I can think of.......young Katie Brown.

3. Your best Most Generous nature as we will be supporting three very worthwhile Causes all extremely close to Motor-Home-Fun hearts right now.
