I've used that crossing probably at least twice a year for the past 20 years and never seen a dog carried or on a lead on deck.

Edit - Out of interest and as it would suit me I've just spoken with DFDS who said that foot passengers' dogs must go in the ship's kennels and you must book by phone to check if a kennel is available.

I have just written to DFDS asking if they would consider a trial dog lounge similar to that on the P&O ferry. I will keep you posted.

Looking at the P and O dog lounge they quote £27.
Do you know if they is in lieu of the normal pet charge or is it additional, The website is not clear on this.

P&O Pet Lounge

I have just returned from my holiday and used the new Pet Lounge on P&O Dover to Calais route. It worked out £120 cheaper return than Eurotunnel. The pet lounge facility was great, we were parked up next to the lift that took us up to within a few metres of the lounge. For the humans, at the...

We are hopefully going this way instead of Dover. Are you allowed to overnight near the harbour as we will be travelling down the day before catching the ferry.

You can overnight in the actual port car park, we always do on the night before the day crossing and after our return crossing in late evening quiet enough overnight

There are two 20% disounts available.
1) If you are staying longer than 10 days
2) If you are a wrinkly (over 60)
They are both only available if you book by phone.
Sometimes, not every time ( depends on who answers the phone) you get both!
I have had the 40% discount sevetal times. Result!

I don't know what 'card' a disabled person holds so why not call them on the number in my post?
