Tec tower fridge has failed, need new or repair?

very happy to report that although the top fridge still doesn't feel cold the thermometer says 2.2C, can maybe turn it down from 4 to 3 lights

Well David, you did get £500 quid knocked off - maybe thats why - defective thermostat?

2.2C is David, but just a tad too low for normal foodstuffs...................and certain medications (if a need to be concerned).
It sounds to me like it's working as you would expect, but may just need turning down a fraction still.

Pleased to report that I turned setting to 3 lights earlier now got 3.6C

Hopefully I did get a bargain not a reject

But as @Riverbankannie says maybe too big a risk of forgetting to lock before moving

Been there & done that. I do still push it up when on site but reset it at some point during the day before we leave rather than turning it into something I have to check before driving off. So far that's worked for me.

You can. However I'm undecided as to whether I'll keep it for the next owner (very unlikely) or whether I can use it's outer curved door as part of the microwave installation. Either way I'll let you know as soon as my fridge / freezer is repaired.

@DavidG58 You asked for first refusal for my oven. Today the fridge was repaired and the oven removed so it's now available. (Although ISTR you have solved your problem & now don't need it.)

Thanks Tony, I think at that time I was looking at a like for like size fridge replacement, I opted for the taller fridge freezer which is now the total height of the old tec tower including oven

So now don’t have room looking at remoska type options if we bother at all

Closing entry for this thread, the old tec tower has now gone to the tip

But not before three funsters got their hands on it

lower door and some 'trinkets' off the back went first

then one enterprising member came over for the oven section, which does with persuasion come apart from the fridge, wouldn't fancy doing that as a repair though, mind you I wouldn't fancy refitting a tec tower having seen how hard the oven roof vent is to line up and attach once all the furniture is in place

note to anybody thinking about removing theirs, don't, unless fitting a new one even then a tec tower refit would be nearly impossible without more furniture removal as well

then lastly and most coincidentally a call for a fascia was spotted, that is going to a new owner on Thursday

So all in all some decent recycling

and still love our new fridge, although yet to even fill it and use it yet
