It will be. Nothing said so far suggests any engine damage.
I really hope so ....guys up here are busy so just waiting till they can get it on the ramp ...only one ramp big enough for it so a bit of a wait but I think they are going to take cambelt cover off and check if the timing marks line up etc before doing anything else....

That's what I'd do. Bear in mind though that being a few teeth out will not cause engine damage and from what you said when you started it I doubt the timing's out at all. They need the cover off anyway to make sure there's nothing inside that shouldn't be there.

That sounds like heater plug (or heater plug control relay) failure.
Aren’t they the things that it’s easy to sheer of when replacing them 😥

Tam

If it is any consolation, I am somewhat on tenterhooks but not to the same extent, as my MH has been at the garage for conversion of lights etc. for Polish compliance prior to re-registration and is now undergoing technical inspection.

I did not go to bed till Toby was safely delivered to you from the AA 'infinite care' (emphasis being on infinite). I hope the starter battery survived the hazard lights test?

Why does it need the ramp for the belt cover removal? More accessible from below?

There's not much room underneath for a good look while it's on the ground ...can't access anything from above so to remove the cover etc it needs a ramp ..
Solar should have brought battery back up enough now

Blimey, this is like waiting outside a maternity unit!!
Been off to paint a wall while awaiting the outcome - and still no news....
Fingers crossed for you.

They are fitting a new cambelt on it as the belt had been damaged by the shredded drive belt ...so 3 new belts.
Other than that I don't know anything else yet ...he's not mentioned if timing out or anything so will see how it goes
Sounding positive, fingers and toes crossed 🤞🤞(y)

fingers still crossed i hope you are on the ferry on sunday

Is all this fuss [and the electrickery issues] as a result of saving a few pesetas on the budget Spanish alternator last year?

No

Nothing wrong with the alternator fitted last year.

This incident probably caused by the garage not changing the auxiliary belts when they did the cambelt ...

The electrical stuff wasn't related

the garage priced & done exactly what tam asked ! , not the garages fault , on hindsight tam may be thinking he should have changed them out of caution, many a time I’ve looked back and thought ( could have/ should have ) , As the old saying goes , pays your money & takes your chances
