Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Can never find castanets,
Just get your maracas out and give them a shake :Eeek:
shopping
that will attract some interest :imoutahere:

We had a trial walk to the vets...all dogs stopping for sniffs and pee marking , and the odd poo it took 10 minutes through a maze of lanes and alleys. Little breezy today and the odd spit of sky moisture but otherwise its still warm but cloudy

It's unreal how many brits there are walking about here , few Irish too and a lot of Americans. Definitely outnumbering the Germans and French for a change . Yet lots of German French and Dutch motorhomes. I passed a hotel and a few brave souls were on sun loungers lol ...they have to be brits View attachment 707216View attachment 707217View attachment 707218View attachment 707219View attachment 707220View attachment 707221View attachment 707222View attachment 707223View attachment 707224
Funny seeing those pics, spending about 6 weeks in that area a while back, gorgeous , have you been to the Nerja caves ? Well worth doing , awesome 👍

I get so envious reading travel threads from people a bit younger than me, wondering mainly how it’s funded.

Lucky buggers, it took me 20 minutes to defrost the the car this morning at 7.30am, it was so thick and hard. Warm water in the end.

It was a blizzard whistling right up my trouser leg.

When I keep finding out additional costs I wasn't budgeting for I wonder how I'm funding it myself lol

Go to Morocco they said ... its cheap they said lol

Then you find out about insurance prices , all these extra expenses for dogs, health certificates etc etc and I go oops 😬 never thought of that .

Yes but would you sooner be back in Scotland right now, it will be as cold as up here.

Royal Mail overseas post badly disrupted after cyber incident. Did Jackie get someone to photocopy her V5 before posting, if so she could still get it scanned & forwarded to print in Spain. Fingers crossed it will turn up in the post.

Nah she didn't

The cost of getting to Morocco is expensive.
The ferry 310 E
The dogs ( based on what we paid) 170 E
It’s a big country, not wildcamped yet but still in the north.
Motorway 7 E
Fuel around 1.4 E per litre
So 2 nights @ 8 E and 1 night 5 E
If we want to travel to Tafraout 840 Km from where we are .
But as we are out of time 90/180 and we don’t want to go back by the 8th February we choose to go to Morocco.
But as for cheaper with the cost incurred so far?
For the experience it’s invaluable.

What was the €170 for the dogs?

I read €38 per dog for some health certificate but not aware of anything else.

And please tell me that ferry price was a return and for 2 people lol otherwise I'm no gan lol

We paid at the same vet 116E for 2 dogs so 58 E each.
You have 3.
Yes two people travelling and returning.

So as far a cheap place to go, we are there for 8 weeks, fixed cost 426 E
So 54 E per week without turning a wheel, or eating or buying a new sim plus data and the gas plus site fees.
Just saying it’s an experience and not cheap.

Feck sake , I'm curious why they'd charge you €58 and the other folk €38

It's getting ridiculous all this nonsense to take a flipping healthy dog out the country for a holiday.

I'm guessing your insurance covered you for Morocco too as yeve not mentioned the €200 for that too

No really but if a load of twits hadn't lumbered us with feckin 90 days I'd just be staying in Spain lol

I've 6 weeks of shengen time left

Tam how does that 90 day rule thing work? Do you have to be back in UK within 90 days and then wait 180 days to go back into Europe again? I'm totally lost how it works and how do they know what date you arrived into Europe etc?

We had Saga and it covered us.
Plus we don’t have a motorbike .
And you will need to deal with the dog issues.
We took some food, then a guy turned up in his car and fed them uncooked chicken bones.it was good to see someone cared.

You're allowed to be in shengen 90 days in any 180 , so I entered shengen 26th November, 90 days from then gives me till 28th Feb, then I need to leave for 90 days before I can re enter. Or go to Morocco in the middle for however long to extend that 90 days . If I finally get over there around the 10th of Feb I'll have 18 days left when I re enter Spain to get from tarifa to calais .

I couldn't cope with the dog issues and animal cruelty. Although Jane and Rog haven't mentioned any of that.

That's a bollocks, but do they actually keep track of anyone that enters Europe and when? How the feck would they know among all the 1000s that cross over every month

Aye I'm not covered so I'd need to buy insurance. Not sure I'll bother with the scooter as its out of mot end of Feb

The dogs will be a nightmare but I'm having no more lol , saw plenty in Greece, Bulgaria and Romania so I'm used to seeing them .

They do Aye , passports are now stamped aswell as scanned and there's fines for overstaying and risks of bans re entering etc , so it's a complete bollocks to be honest.

And what is the punishment if you are caught?
