Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

I don't know tam but I think his post where always very informative and he seems a really nice guy and I just hope he comes back on this forum as I miss his adventure and pics along with many others .

It was correct last time I spoke to Jim about it and I have not heard that it has changed, from what I can gather (not in this case) you can get some very strange posts and of course Jim cannot watch every thread 24/7 so it's like a safety button if a few people press the report it cuts them off until it can be sorted. It would be good to if someone who has contact with Tam could pass this information on. (y)
 
Been away for a few days and now shocked to discover that Tam has been banned. He doesn't seem the kind of guy that would normally do anything to upset others so someone must have really wound him up. Hope he's back soon as we love to read about his (and Jade's) adventures.

It would have been nice. But it was late and I was busy that evening with (much) more important things than refereeing a childish, meaningless, squabble by supposed adults breaking rules here that benefit us all. And I dealt with it as soon as I possibly could which was 5am the next day!

Bickering threads, where people are discourteous to each other; always trying to get the last word or point scored are not nice and drag this place down. Tam has been removed from a thread for exactly the same style of debate before. We've all got too much invested in this place to see it go like all the other forums before it, and it won't.

I enjoy this particular thread too, it's great reading. I've made a point of mentioning it a few times now in our newsletters, if it doesn't continue it will be missed, but that's up to Tam. But he won't be allowed back here till Thursday.

In the case of Tam - IMO he was provoked by being called a W**k*r, a C*** and some other choice words and responded with some abuse but not nearly to the same extent hence only a one week ban as opposed to the other guy who got a months ban :)
 
I think that before the abusive language it had already got to a point of tedium and an unnecessary exchange, which Jim has said in the past is the type of posting he tries to discourage and I think that was no doubt was part of the reason for his action, which he might have acted upon earlier if, as he has said he was not busy when the 'Reports' started.

I had stopped reading the exchanges between the two of them long before the end.

Apparently Tam has had some posts pulled in the past, so he has a bit of 'history' which was no doubt also taken into consideration.

Like others, I have greatly enjoyed Tam's thread about his journey in Spain, especially the images and stopover locations.

I didn't see the other Hymer thread being referred to, but I fully recognise the difficult and time consuming job Jim does. From everything that has been said, particularly his clarification, I'm more than happy to accept his judgement. Thanks Jim!

Nonetheless, hope Tam will return in due course and continue to keep us abreast of his travels.

Well mabe,just maybe, Jade is part of a bigger problem - Tam gradually increased his workload; walking Jade; emotional caring for her; then writing A4 length posts, till he got to a point where a push sent him over.

She may be innocent, but by association she has to take the punishment - the worst of which for her will be the damage lack of media exposure for a week may do to her photographic career.:giggle:

No ,I'm not moaning it is a very sensible arrangement that, until @Carol posted ,I & probably many others including those banned , didn't know existed. & as you say you sorted it at the earliest opportunity.(y)

Agreed!! We will hopefully see Jade and Tam on Thursday time to move on now methinks!!

Never having owned an hymer I had not followed the other thread, So, I had to have a look to see what all the fuss was about.Soon got fed up with the point scoring. I agree that the sensible thing for Tam to do would just to have ignored the baiting. But when you are in the situation you do not always do the sensible thing.(got the T-shirt). Will have to wait and see if Tam returns

Im sure Tam will appreciate you have taken the bother to explain things but it would mean more if “he” actually received an explanation as he can’t see this nor the explanation in the hymer thread.
All he sees is “You are banned for 7 days” when he tries to log in.

Sometimes when your pd off you can’t see the wood for the trees etc so it might help if he had some sort of communication regarding the matter.

I said in my explanation that he would see a copy of that post and a copy was emailed to him right after it was made at around 6am on Friday (y)
 
Roly's gone on strike and says she's not getting up until Jade is back :D
