Price of them is ridiculous and in the end that's what was putting her off .....£1795 for fabric nearly £2500 for leather 😱

But I got her a deal on this one which will do her just now till we see what happens with hospital etc so she's happy and comfy and we can get her up and down

So pleased you have got one for your mother. She looks comfortable and no doubt it’s much better than hospital. Hope your sister gets a bit of rest too

You are a good son.

I don't think I would be able to get that in my living room. It is a lovely recliner (y)

It is a bit big but it does the job ...she must be finding it comfy at least as she's had a few naps in it today .. which is good

You’ll always have me….🙋🏼‍♂️😎
How can I put this ... I think she likes taller/more meaty men? 😀 :ROFLMAO:

Tam, just a word of caution, the way she's sitting she has her feet hanging over the end which can put pressure on the back of leg and cause circulation issues, better to see if she can sit further back without the big pillow/cushion so they don't dangle so much.

Surprised you couldnt get one on Freecycle or Gumtree they are so heavy etc and one time use that you see quite a few given away

She can't which is why we have the pillow behind her. Legs too short and one doesn't bend.

Eh? Why does that prevent her sitting further back?

Because she has to get on it. Trust me we've spent 2 days on countless chairs and had the same issues. We could get one made to fit her but in 8 weeks and £2200 which she isn't willing to do. So this was the best option for now. Things go to plan she'll be back in hospital in 4 weeks hopefully getting the whole thing replaced.

I'd surprised you haven't designed and made a winch system to plonk her on it Tam!

I’ve just had to get a recliner riser for my dad this week. He didn’t fit into the standard sizes so we had to opt for the “make one” range. You are right they are very expensive but he does spend up to 12 hours a day in it so it had to be comfy.

We will probably go down that route in the end but mum is still in the mindset that if they replace her knee she will be miraculously cured and running round like a spring chicken ....she won't but for now it's easier just to let her think whatever keeps her spirits up ...meantime she will get used to this chair and how it helps her get up...then we can order one of the tailor made ones after her op and she can use this while she waits .. its taken me 2 years to convince her to let me sell her car ...we have even got her considering a mobility scooter but one step at a time. She is stubborn and grasping on to any shreds of independence she can so its just a case of slowly slowly catchy monkey with her.
