Thoroughly discusting weather here today it's not stopped raining since I got up ....
Popped over border to use a services for toilet dump then headed east ....ive had to resort to buying some diesel on a motorway ( I will flog myself later ) as I was below quarter and don't like getting that low..so I've only stuck €25 in to do me till I'm off motorway

and I've stopped here for lunch. ....I'm heading for dinant today where I'll stop tonight before heading south east

If youre heading past Aachen to the lake just a little bit South then Rurberg was 15 euros and Heimbach was 7 or 8 euros.
We spotted this one where you are 30 yards away from a lovely view and footpaths all around you, totally free no facilities, you have to drive through a nice housing estate and it looks wrong but it does work out ok.

Dont get tempted by seeing the diesel at 1.10 near the border, hold your nerve and look out for the 2 or 3 garages between aachen and the lake on the different single carriageways that are well lower than a euro. We got 93.9 down that road and there were choices.

Good decision.Covid measures are absolutely brilliant here in Benicasim.Feel safer than in France.Had a coffee out this morning and that's the first since 23 rd of March. BUSBY.

I'm heading down towards Luxembourg from here so I will miss Aachen but I visited there last year when in Germany ...I'm entering Luxembourg from Arlon so I can follow the route of the 7 castles

Yeah I looked at that but apparently now a no sleeping sign there ....the place I was heading has turned out to be the same place I stopped last year lol but it's not as busy probably due to the torrential rain .
So I'm here now ...fed up driving for the day so I'm going to stay here and hopefully the rain might stop so we can have a walk around later or in the morning.

€55. 46L at €1.17L back to full tank


Then drove on to Dinant for tonight's stop

If this rain ever stops I'll get some pics of the town later or in the morning.
Going to chill out now ...at least it's not cold just very wet.
 
Last winter we used the Cheap Fuel app, brilliant, tells you locations and prices on your route, works on various countries, there's probably several similar apps. Free to install and easy to use.

hope all is going okay. Those dogs are fantastic!
 
Well the rain wasn't letting up and the dogs needed walked so we walked in to town and got soaked ...the town is dead ...nothing like it was last November..a few bars open with maybe 2 or 3 people in them ..but everything else closed.

Nearly everyone wearing masks here even in the streets ..I passed a large group of school kids earlier and they all masked too

So I took a couple of pics but they aren't the best due to the weather so forgive me if I cheat on my polar steps and upload the ones from last year also ....as folk following that weren't following me last year.

It's an old German dish called " pasta hymer". I believe it was first made by Erwin hymer himself ....it's basically pasta with whatever you have available in your hymer
So in this case pasta , tuna , mixed peppers in Bolognese sauce 😁😂😂

You may be able to make it even without a hymer ....

Washed down with more of that out of date Portuguese beer


I bet most of you are wondering how it's possible I'm single .....

actually tam that’s what you would call a “student pasta”
but it only qualifies if the pasta is from a basic range or Aldi. 😀😀

You should have stopped where we are tonight Memorial Museum Passchemdale, nice park for the dogs to have a run in. Also a very interesting museum.
