Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

I’m interested in what Milo said, I think he would have been up for it..... was it a two to one decision...🤔
He was the most against it ....he said he's the family security and he wont be upstaged by some upstart no matter how big he gets ...

Probably the correct decision Tam 👍🏻
Still hard though, pulls on the heart strings.

After a lengthy discussion with jade and milo we've decided our pack is best kept as it is for now. So to avoid any more temptation we moved this morning ....only a km away to a quieter beach spot.

Jackie has taken to feeding the dogs at her van and that has started quite a territorial dispute between my two and the mother dogs .
I think she plans to follow later today when she organises herself but ive moved already .

I think zorba may actually be a van and not a dog .... hence the confusion.

Decision made. ....no more pack members for now unless its the 2 legged variety.
The head has beaten the heart

I have always found that for me following my instincts/ gut feeling is the right thinf in the long run. Hence me- my inner voice - "do I want a puppy"?
Inner voice YES, rational voice: "but that might be a bit difficult, what about when...., what if...."
Result: I have the puppy. Long term proves correct choice.
Alternatively " do I want the puppy"?
Inner voice- "I'm not sure, it would be nice but....etc., etc.
Result- I don't have the puppy.
My doubts were foremost, my emotions were trying to overide my gut feelings. To have the puppy in the second instance would have been a mistake.
I don't know if trying that process might help Jackie.

Probably for the best BUT a hard choice you had to make 🤕

- 8 last night , not sure sure the new pup would thank you for bringing him here

Wasn't it Robert the Bruce or some other Scotsman who was supposed to have said "if at first you don't succeed try,try and try again,"?

Thats why i want her to swim ...because if they fall in deep water theres a chance i couldnt save them

Nowt bad about that

I can swim but im neither a strong swimmer or a confident one in the sea

Milo is a good swimmer ...jade can swim but chooses not to ...but at least i know now that she can if she had to

My last Greyhound chose not to swim. He could walk alongside other dogs that were swimming in a couple of feet of water. If he walked into a deep spot there was blind panic until he found another shallow spot. He used to walk round puddles on the pavement.

All dogs can swim Tam, some less well than others (like the 'squashed nosed' breeds) but like Jade and yourself (and me) some have less confidence.

I have no personal experience of greyhounds but I imagine as they are such slimly built, stream-lined animals their legs and paws won't displace much water at all when doing "doggy paddle" which could lead to lack of buoyancy and therefore confidence/ability. Just guessing on my part.

Both of mine seek out puddles to run through lol ...worse than kids
