Rally Swaffham Shindig (formally the Thetford Bash )

##@##@££## !!!

My motorbike MOT'd last week ready for Swaffham and just getting it out ready to load up and the bloody rectifier is scorching hot and given up the ghost and keeps popping the 30amp main fuse.

No ride out for me. 😭😢

I'd like to know as well, my Hymer is 8.3 mtrs and i have levellers which decrease ground clearance a fair bit.
If you go up the drive at 45 degrees instead of a 90 degree turn the shorter overhangs can cope..... But not my fat arse of an overhang on the RV

Sadly I will have to cancel. I have to be back home on Saturday. It’s a 300 mile round trip. Arrive Thursday at 3 leave Saturday at 3 it’s just not worth it.
Fish and chips orderd so if any one wants them.
Then money can go to Johns charity.
I’m sure everyone will have a good time.
Still there’s another field were I can catch up with everyone.

Sorry to hear that John. :(

See you at Bakewell though. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

To let everyone know before you get here.

1. Still only 1 tap by the club as you arrive.please arrive with plenty of water as there will be a long queue we expect.
2. You MUST take all your rubbish home. John has tried to arrange another rubbish bin but that's fallen through.
3. The lead person in each party will be asked to sign the attendee list by way of a disclaimer.
4. Ground is firm.😃
5. The Marshall's tent is as you come in. You will then be sent on either the disabled track or onto the main pitch. Please remember to notify us if you need a disabled space. Access to the main pitch is via a different route to avoid the worst overhanging branches, so please follow instructions or you may get into difficulty.
6. For those planning to arrive soon after 3pm, please be patient. We will be doing the best we can.

How low are the overhanging branches?

Not sure whether to request a spot in the disabled area. Kirsty is a very slow walker but we have a (new) wheelchair with us if we need to get around quickly. It's (perhaps optimistically!) labelled as All Terrain. Should be fine on 'firm' ground, I'd have thought.....

As indicated by RedFrame, you are signing to say that if you take part in the ride out, the ped racing etc, etc and get hurt, it's at your risk, not John"s Jaws.

Tony. You can make the decision when you arrive. The only real difference is that it's much more level to the club house.

Presuming ramps not required
The talk about different levels etc makes me wonder I should fling them in

Its about 10 oclock
Total distance is abouit 130 miles round trip.. Cafe first and then on to a motorcycle museum

I am definitely attending next year!

I am afraid I will be on a Grom, so it will be a nice steady ride !!

A trend setter, that’s what I am! Is it a 3rd generation Grom that you have?

Just bring one of your other motorbikes; I’ve yet to meet a biker who has only one bike! 😎

Go the route we send you and I had no problem with a 3.3m high van. Pick another route, and some I can touch from the ground. Hence the warning. 😄
So my van is a midges dick over 3.5 metres high🤔

As a matter of interest, what does the rugby club do with their rubbish? Does this disclaimer include excluding catching typhus by keeping bin bags full of dog shit etc in your van in this weather, come on, a couple of squids each will secure a bin surely?

Anyone local that has an address that will get us into the tip once or twice a day?

I'm sure we could organise transport between us...

Cheers

I am not sure but run a village hall in the next county. We pay a Kings ransom for a.business rate bin and weekly collections. If it will not go in the bin, or it is overflowing, they will not take it. Can't think it's any different in Norfolk.
