Rally Swaffham Shindig (formally the Thetford Bash )

I am still fretting about the absence of a pitching plan! 😲😲😲
If you take Plan B (A never works), someone else can take Plan C. Eventually a concensus will form that everyone was using Plan Z.

Where is Baldrick when you need him ;)

Putting this here in case it’s of interest to anybody at the meet:

FOR SALE
Sat dome 40cm DP250P (Originally Camos dome) fitted in 2009.

Overhaul/new control box (Roadpro version) Aug 2017 which included a new dome.

(To use Will need to make/purchase new cable from box/dome).

Will be good for spares or repair as sometimes struggles to lock on which Dave thinks could be either a new LNB needed or to be stripped down and lubricated as it’s a bit noisy?!

£200ono

We have gone over completely to streaming so not wanting to invest more in to it.

Still fitted to Motorhome , can remove mounting feet at same time as take down dome when sold.

I'm at Murrow near Wisbech, I have to leave by 11:00 so I'll have to find somewhere to chill out for a couple of hours or I'll arrive to early :giggle:

Did I read on this thread somewhere that you can only approach from one direction? Or am I dreaming

No not dreaming. It was I. If you have a long overhang or a Toad, approaching from the town and main road end, you will ground if turning right into the site. A pain, but better to go down the road , turn around, and come up the hill turning left into the site. We left some very spectacular grooves in the road surface last year, and someone's Toad partially detached.

Anything with more than half a metre or so overhang was graunching. Even my rear stabiliser caught as I turned in and I only have a 6m van. You have been warned.

Thanks for the warning Robin. I had a look on Google street view and the entrance looked almost flat, so would not have worried without the warning.

No idea. Perhaps one of last year's attendees who used a TV can assist. We don't carry one.

What's the mobile/TV signal like?
Might want to watch a bit of the F1
Depending on how the batteries have faired I may be able to rig up my tv outside and anybody that wants can come and watch the race, can do, hopefully we'll have plenty of sun and we'll be okay. I have a satellite dish and sky.

We booked in to St Neots for today until Thursday but got cancelled a couple of weeks ago due to flooding.
Were you booked on grass? I’m on hard standing, the grass pitches were not being used due to flooding but they have mowed them today . So I think they may be nearly dry enough to pitch on

Yes. Didn't think we'd need hard standing by this time of the year! Spoke to the warden and he said there were no hard standing available as he'd had to shut some of those too. When I contacted HO for a refund they offered a hard standing!
