Paul Young?? A bit pissed and passed his best I think!
Yep, the lady in the post office told me that her friend who is a security guard confirmed that "Paul Young spent a bit too much time in the hospitality tent". We walked away from the stage after the first two songs and it was like we joined a mass exodus! Nevertheless had a fantastic weekend, entertainment highlights for me were Kim Wilde, Wombles, Tom O'Connor, Sophie Ellis-Baxter, Kim Wilde, the Circus ( featuring Alan Womble Soaking), Assorted Funsters, Flava and Kim Wilde. Many many thanks to @Wombles Karen and Alan for all their hard work to make the meet a huge success .

Thanks to @Wombles for everything.
We had a fab time, the circus was really good too.
Danced my socks off last night to the Abba tribute band. Sophie Ellis Bexter was brilliant. Not so impressed with Paul Young but there was always something else to see, which was great.
With such glorious weather, it really topped it off :)

Do you have a long straw running up your trouser leg? If not I think I still have some old catheter pipe I can let you have
No Pipework needed, just a bit of imagination to save me paying £4.50 a pint plus £1.00 for a glass. The security people were excellent, IMO they agreed punters were getting ripped off at the beer tents and as long as you didn't wave your drink in their face when checking through they turned a blind eye. On the Sunday night we were walking in with carrier bags full of beer and they just waved us through. I never paid for a drink in the beer tent during the whole festival. Friday night, some were queuing for 1.1/2 hours to get a drink. Paul Young was a major disappointment, to say the least other than that we enjoyed numerous bands and especially meeting up with Funster friends again. Thanks Wombles, you two were superb.
Safe travels

Thank you Karen and Alan @Wombles for organising our exclusive area. We were coming anyway but this meant it was so much more relaxing. Fingers crossed for the same next year. Loved Blue, Wurzels, Jaki Graham and Kim Wilde, enjoyed many others but Paul Young was truly dreadful. Thanks Kate @Ambilkate for organising the circus tickets, without you we would not have bothered and would have missed a treat. Nick's first ever circus, poor deprived chap!
Experienced the true funster spirit when @Terry sorted our water leak.

Many thanks mr and mrs wombles for all your work ....

I did speak to a few of the sunshine marshals and officials and thanked them for looking after the mhf people .
Told them we would be at the Blues festival if we get the same special treatment. ..

Wow what a fantastic time was had by us a BIG THANK YOU to Allan &Karen for all you have done we appreciate all the time and effort that you have put into this arrangeing with the organisers so that the funsters could enjoy the sunshinefest x Thank you xxx

The Paul Young effect!!!!

Thank you Alan and Karen @Wombles for not only brilliant organisation but arranging such superb weather throughout the weekend..
The Freddie Mercury tribute was, for us, the show stopper. Sophie Ellis - Bexter was superb. Union Gap cannot go without a mention and ABBA tribute along with Whitney Houston and Little Mix.
Also, what a lovely town and such a friendly welcome from the business people and staff.
Nothing to fault.

Paul Young?? A bit pissed and passed his best I think!

Once again I find myself agreeing with you. Fist couple of songs completely out of key and his backing band desperately changing key to try and match his now very poor range of scale. My words to Mrs Barsteward very disappointing for the headline act.

Great weekend Wombles thanks very much, weather and location spot on including the two exclusive WC's.

The majority of the groups were excellent but Paul Young, headline act?????, my arse. Wouldn't pay him out in shirt buttons - he's well past his sell by date and he should throw the towel in now IMO.

We would like to add our thanks to Alan & Karen ( @Wombles ) for their hard work in organising a superb weekend.
We enjoyed Heatwave, Abba tribute, Blue, Barry White tribute and of course The Wurzels.
We enjoyed the Indian meal at Flava and particularly the company of fellow funster newbies Brian & Val ( @Antique ).

Yes I did me ole fruit pastel! The charge for escorting your beautiful wife to your motorhome to get more beer. Have a great time in France.
Creep! Only you could escort my missus to my motorhome to get more beer and not go the 23 paces to your own to get your warm Carling!:D

This little guy deserves a mention though,(no not you Phil) he made my day!

Likewise Derek & Sarah. Really nice to meet up with another pair of newbies and also to receive such a warm welcome from the more seasoned members we had the pleasure to meet.
Would like to add our thanks to Karen and Alan for their excellent hard work!
Our first rally will certainly not be our last .

Brian & Val (Antique)

Looks like we missed a good time.
We won't be going to the Moto GP next year so it looks like you'll have to put up with me :D

So much music  & it's not always the headline acts that are the best. We missed Chico & Sophie but enjoyed many including Heatwave, Atomic Kitten, Four Tops, Gracie May, Cuginis & The GT's but The Wurzels stole the show for us!
We are really pleased that so many of you enjoyed Sunshine Festival & that the weather was kind to us :sun:Thank you all for coming along , your offers of help (y) & kind words. It was great to see everyone chatting in our lovely friendly area & dancing in the arena :dance2: A special Thank You to Adrian @trekkin for all your support, to Kate @Ambilkate who managed to persuade a lot of you to go to the circus (excellent fun even though Alan got soaked :roflmto:) & to Alice & Chris @Chrysalis who helped organise those going to the Indian & looked after the Newbies :hi5:
The Flava restaurant http://www.flavafusion.uk/opened specially for 26 of us on Saturday lunchtime & the food & service was great so that have to say Thank You to them too as they trusted that we would all turn up. Definitely one to try again for the proposed Upton Blues Meet next year. Many of you commented on how friendly & reasonably priced the shops, coffee shops & pubs were in Upton so more good feedback for that location.
Sunshine organisers are keen to have even more of us Funsters & RVOC members back next year but we need to negotiate further with them over the next few weeks. There is the Earlybird offer on their website of £70 which we understand runs until October but we hope to have a Fun Discount Deal for both Sunshine & Mello which should be even better & you will still be booking direct with Sunshine so please bear with us while we see what is possible.
We are busy today washing, cleaning & repacking :whew: for BunkFest but will catch up next week on our return & when the organisers are back after their break to recover.
In the meantime please post any comments, photos, feedback or register interest in Mello &/or Sunshine on this thread or send us a PM

Joe (tree surgeon) said there was no way he would use those two portaloos, the overhanging branch on that very dead oak could seriously spoil your day !
