Suggestions to conceal/repair table

Opened overhead cupboard and food tin dropped onto dining table and smashed it .
Silly girl, you have had a Motorhome long enough to know you never store anything heavy in roof locked above worktops & tables.:)

I once did a very similar repair I used white Gel Coat filler & coloured it using a drop of Humbrol enamel, hardly noticeable when done.

Oops the ease of repair will depend partly on what finish is on it now, the cheapest option would be just fill it with car body filler and put a table cloth on. Next option might be a sheet of suitable melamine glued on top.

I did something very similar to ours recently when something dropped onto the table from the cupboard. Almost the exact damage. I did just that....... car body filler and a sand down. Not perfect but it’ll do for now ....... until the next time no doubt ?

Fill it, smooth it, cover with sticky back sheets from DIY stores and trim to size.
Recovered my table and sink cover with £8 roll from B&Q.

Left field idea if the dent is central or appropriate place.
Buy a centrepiece such as a vase for flowers preferably with a circular bottom.
Cut out half of the tables depth (size of the centrepiece) and leave the rest for the centrepiece to sit on and not fall over when travelling.
You could then have a designer table with a central vase and reallocated flowers daily. Quite a talking point.

Out of left field ? That's out of the ball park!
I would see if your medication has been tampered with.:roflmto:

The inside will be a lightweight cardboard honeycomb, so expanding foam or hot water will make it worse. it needs filling with 2 part filler and a texture set in the filler before it sets. then paint to match

there are specialist companies that can fix it and come to you for under £100 and the repair is near invisible
Yes, one of my sailing buddies (in Durham) is a furniture restorer and actually does quite a few of these. He has a van himself and also says it makes a change from 19th century desks

The bustards!!!!! Don't you just HATE it when people make things look so easy!!!! I am rubbish.. :(
Yep I'm rubbish at that sort of stuff, we have a repair on our worktop, done before we had the MH but they certainly didn't get that person the blend it in

movan if you go down the o'leary route it is just along the road from me, think you may be a bit away from home though for me to deliver.

Right. Finally started on it.

Decided on the easiest solution for me from above... as I am useless at DIY.

II went to Halfords for some car bodywork filler and they suggested this.

So i have put the first layer on. Will put another layer on tomorrow and then sand it down another day. Then mix my own paint from acrylics. Then apply with sponge to mottle it to match table, (fingers crossed). Then another day.. Wipe whole table top and then spray whole of table top with varnish spray.

If anyone sees an obvious ha ha ha THAT won't work in any stage, will you let me know please.

For varnish consider Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish. It's incredibly easy to use, dries like glass, and lasts forever.

Just put a table cloth on the table.. Problem solved :p :D

Hope it works out well.
If it does please will you come and do mine!

It's looking good, don't sand too large an area, just the repair bit. (y)

Looks like you have got all bases covered ?
Can't see that not being a good job on completion ?

Fill the hole - yes.

But then better overall finish with a vinyl / pvc self adhesive film? Lots of colours and patterns available.

Thank you. That sounds good .. but not sure the finish would be .. knowing my DIY capabilities and history. :(

Use "Colourful" obtainable from a kitchen suppler, its for repairing wortops and you cannot times of different colours so you can mix until you get a good match. After filling a little proud scrape the overfill off with a razor bale dome carefully and taking you time you can achieve good almost invisible results.

Superglue a piece of plastic to the damaged section warm the piece to be removed carefully with a heat source lift it gently slowly slowly catch a monkey. In fill the damage leaving enough depth to put the damaged bit back remove the lifting bit of plastic superglue it back then lightly sand the whole top then cover with vinyl. Worked for me on a dashboard.

Posted late but might help someone later down the line.

Joy that's a great job you should be proud of that, I'd have been worried about trying. (y)
