For varnish consider Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish. It's incredibly easy to use, dries like glass, and lasts forever.
Joy you are an amazing lady you should be proud of yourself
It's just too easy. It's water-based and goes on easily. Once hard blemishes can be smoothed with wire wool - gently. Give it two coats with a light rub in between. It's like glass when finished.Tony. Going to b and q today for this. Any tips on putting it on please?

I recommended the Floor Varnish as it's one I used for skirtings and windowsills but that was around 15 years ago and I don't recall it being quite that expensive. Having said that it doesn't go off & goes a very long way - I still have some of the original half litre left! I think that at the time I bought it it was one of the very few alternatives to polyurethane varnish. It was recommended by a builder friend & there's no doubt it's hard - mine is still undamaged.Tony re_did my table paint and went to B and Q for this today... . £45 for the smallest tin.. Guess iit because it for floors, they assume it for large areas. Would the DIAMOND HARD WOOD GLOSS be hard enough do you think..?
