Suggestions please for visiting England

I keep meaning to do some of Kent but when I get close to Dover a big magnet switches on..............

If you live here, you must get the other pole of that magnet - locals are usually repelled by Dover ;)

...but are you surprised  ?
some folk just don't know what they are missing.
there again a lot do know what they are missing:LOL: that's why they don't come back!!

seriously, there are so many places in all our counties that are worth a visit, a lot that us, as residents don't know about!

As Mitzmad said , Road A12 then A14 to Felixstowe, 2 mile Promenade, old seaside town , Theatre called The Spa, £ 4 million just spent on gardens, to right of Seafront, Old Fort , just beyond that Viewing Area , lovely Cafe and you can watch the biggest Container Ships come in and depart, then head for Aldburgh , Southwold , Lowestoft , Perhaps Great Yarmouth, Cromer, Sherringham . If you like small Cities Norwich is Nice .

Shropshire is a must with heritage galore and beautiful scenery to boot plus easy access to the Welsh hills and Snowdonia .

Hi I have not read all the posts so don't know what country you are from , but, if you are in Europe, and want to visit Eastern ( East Anglia) you can get a Ferry from the Hook of Holland to Harwich.

We’re on the ccc Walton on Thames site. Didn’t want to come for gawd knows what reason. A lovely place. Very rural but within bike ride of Hampton Court, trains into London, Walton is a nice town. Totally smitten. Weather has helped, hubby nearly had heart failure when going to a river side hotel for coffee and a Peroni shandy, a tenner!

Take a shed load of money with you - It's flaming expensive.

In September, we want to have a look round a bit of England we haven't been to before. So not the South West, not Northumberland, Yorkshire or the Lakes. Or London and surrounds.
Ideally, somewhere that is scenic, historic, and not a tourist hot spot. Tall order?
We'll have about 3 weeks. Thanks.

Have you thought about Scotland. September they have the Edinburgh festival

There is only one county that should be top of the list for a visit to England is Gods own county YORKSHIRE .The only problem is, you will never want to leave .To avoid wasting time go there first.Enjoy lol.
