Not without Jim's authority and he'd made it patently clear that there was no reserve list.

The whole thread is a reserve list of sorts. If there are spaces and If you expressed an early interest in this thread then you will be contacted. Maintaining a list, adding and removing people from a long list over the course of months is not something I do. Some organisers like to do this, I don't.

Scrutinising the thread most every day for months, making sure that you don't miss anyone or get them in the wrong order, and maintaining a list is quite a pain. Compared to one quick look to fill places which I will do on Wednesday.

If we have spaces; if you expressed interest early in this thread, then you'll be contacted on Wednesday.

I admit it's late and I should have put it to bed in early March, but events conspired against me. Sorry if you've been left in limbo, but we'll know in a couple of days.

I have to say I've never thought of doing it that way. As Jim says it can get very time consuming and a pain adding folks off and on the list. I quite understand why some need to cancel, but having a reserve list doesn't help as much as folks would expect as a good proportion of those are either uncontactable or have already made other arrangements. Emmit posted on this subject a year or so back asking people if they would advise if they want to come off the reserve list. So the benefit's of maintaining a reserve list to those showing an interest is possibly outweighed by the extra effort involved to get to the same end result.

Just my five penneth worth! ;)
