Rally St Georges Day Bash. Newark FULL CLOSED

Well i never knew so much went on in the background, Jim and family must take lots of credit and praises for the time setting up and organising these events. I am reletivaly new but gave sometime this morning in volunteering if I could help in anyway
both Dave, Jock Lee and Eddie helped me in the prep of bacon cooking, overseen by Jim. What an experience that was, I say to you all have a go at volunteering whole new world.
Lastly Katie who kept me going with tea despite other tasks.
B Well all of you.

Well, I had a blast this afternoon! A brilliant acoustic jam session, with lots of talented musicians, singers, a weird tea chest and string bass thing, an Irish Whistle and everything in between!

Thanks to everyone; players, singers and audience for making my Sunday afternoon a brilliant one.

Quiz and music tonight - could the day get any better!

Many thanks to Jim, siân, the helpers, entertainers and the B-Bopalulas for a great meet. It was really nice to be able to see so many old faces and catch up.
Sausages went down too well and the bacon was just as good 🙂

Thanks for all the hard work, it was a great success.👍

What can I say? Best meet for ages…… great effort from all those involved in organising it and making it all happen. Great to meet up with a lot of old friends and make some new ones as well. First class. And the weather was good, which was a bonus.

As above……we were really rubbish in the excellent quiz….

Many thanks to all involved in making this weekend amazing👍

It was great to meet so many Funsters on what was only our 2nd rally.

A special mention to Jim, Sian and their family for all their hard work in putting all this together and for the ‘colourful’ singalong at the end of last night🤣

A good rally and good to meet up with some of my old Funster friends, particularly Mike Makems. The 4 of us met in Morocco a few years ago and on a whim drove all the way down to Dakhla, what an adventure that was. It also gave me the opportunity to give the motorhome a thorough test out before we head off to Greece. Yesterday, I spent much of the day in the Aircraft Museum just down the road and had the great fortune to not only get inside the Avro Vulcan Bomber they have but my guide was the pilot who used to fly this baby. We had a great conversation talking about the Vulcan and what it was like back then. To my surprise, it looks like the inside is almost complete too.

A big thank you to Jim Sian and Katie for putting on this fantastic meet. Also thanks to Robin and Hillary for the sounds and lighting. Also the musicians for entertaining us all. Not forgetting the marshals for parking us all up.
Sadly the only thing that spoiled it was having to leave. Still a ho, there is another field waiting for us soon.
Hoping to see a few of you soon at Stratford. Safe travels and stay safe.

Just arrived back home safe, would like to say a big thanks to Jim & Sian and also all the helpers for making this a fantastic meet.
Great to see some old faces who we haven’t seen for over two years and it’s also good to see newcomers in the fold, just hope they didn’t find the experience to traumatic.:giggle:
Would be nice if this meet becomes a regular in the calendar.
Catch up with some of you again at Hereford.
