* Spain, Malaga 2014 (5th - 25th March) UPDATE

Okay, van serviced and new front brake pads fitted today
Also fingers crossed all the irritating problems that have been delaying our departure are now sorted.
So, give the van a quick wash down tomorrow morning, (and by the end of the farm lane we live down it'll be as dirty as was before I cleaned it), and by mid-day we'll be on the road heading for Malaga.
I just hope the weather is going to be better than it is up here in the north of France.

Weather sunny and warm (ish). but very breezy, I think most of the Spanish coast has these winds... Safe travels...:thumb:

We can second that the winds have been a tad blowey last few weeks..:Eek!:

Today (wednesday) bright sunny morning but the dreaded breeze is still here, Have not been up as sharp for a long time. Should not be long before we squeeze of this pitch and get on the road.

Will be stopping at Malaga for Lpg so hopefully hope to be with you today before it gets Dark. But could be manyarrrrnnnaaaaa...

Safe Travels to all on the roads travelling where ever your destination may be..

Later or tomorrow may be a bonus as site quiet full and for you "big boys" it may need a bit of shuffling...:thumb:
It's close on 2 hours from Malaga non toll..

18th - 25th reservation unable to attend!

Hi everyone, very sorry that we will not be able to make the meet and we were so looking forward to it.! Our habitation check has failed and they will not be able to do warranty work for at least 10 days, as it will have to be booked in for a few days. Hopefully someone will be able to take our place. Have a wonderful time.

Update on the Bellavista meet..

Tuesday 4th... MrMotorhome, Champers and ourselves arrived on site ready for the rally.. Discovered Just looking and Red Dragon (two Steve's) already encamped there for several days... Got set up on our pitches then settled down for a mini meet with afternoon beer and nibbles.. Sunny but breezy.

Wednesday 5th... Saw a steady stream of Funster arrivals from 11am onwards. Unsure of actual count number but we expected to have 26 vans on site by the end of the day.. As the site is already busy we could not all get pitched together but there is a main group on the right hand site of the site and the smaller panel vans have their own mini camp with sea views near the front. Everyone got sorted and at 5.30 we all met in then campsite bar or happy hour.... Turned into a great evening with some people who had never met before all having a good natter over a pint or two.. Someone disovered chips were available and the bar must have done a roaring trade on them.!!

Thursday 6th... Finally the annoying wind dropped and it turned into a glourious day with highs of 22 degrees. Most either did washing or sunbathed early on, followed by walks / rides out to the local port.. Destination Unknown arrived in their RV, due to size had to be pitched on the opposite side of the campsite, now known as "Coventry".

Today.. Sunny and warm but the wind is back  Tonight we have an act on in the bar.. "Tubby Brown". so you can guess where most funsters will be...

Hope to get there today

Hi all

Looks like your having a great time. Hope to get there today breakdowns permitting?

Richard & Mo

I'm about 50 miles away

Hi all

About 50 miles away so should be there for about 2pm. Truly the first time went around a bend going down hill and exceeded the speed limit. Elderly William were waiting €50 fine. Did not want to brake in the bend. My fault could kick my own Arse. They were very nice about taking my money though. I think trying to meet you lot has a negative effect on my luck. But we shall persevere.

Hopefully see you soon

Richard & Mo

Message for Tonks

Hi Steve, not sure if my pm to you got through

Is there a chance we can bring our dates forward a tad?

We travelled through Spain a little quicker than expected and could be with you all either later today or tomorrow.

Arrived late evening yesterday and were greeted more or less immediately by Steve and some other known faces. In the process of meeting many others and looking forward to happy hour tonight in the bar.

Walked into nearby Puerto de la Duquesa with Malcolm Bolt and Cathryn and had great meal at Sabor Toscana (on the upper level of restaurants) great meal, and good service and a gentle wander home afterwards.

Encountered a number of vans "free parking" by the old town sea wall, noted for the future.

Must say that the quality of the facilities and the location of the site are quite fabulous......... well done to Steve and Andrew for arranging such a great deal.

Regards (from gloriously sunny BV)

Bryan and Anna

To remind you - Other Information:

Manilva is situated as a base from which you can explore Andalucía, with its picturesque white towns and villages nestling in the region’s mountains, to its historic cities such as Seville, Malaga, Granada and Cordoba. Just a short hop across the Strait of Gibraltar from continental Africa, namely Ceuta and Morocco. Gibraltar (duty free) is a 30 minute drive. The nearest village is Manilva or the town of Puerto de la Duquesa both a few minutes' walk or cycle along the beach front.

Price negotiated is €14 (Euro) a day per van, to include 1 or 2 people and includes electricity (16amp) and wifi. A calendar month can be negotiated once you are there if you so wish. A figure of €360 has been mentioned but electric will then be charged separately, so that will not be far off the €14 anyway.

This is a pop 'in - out meeting.' there are no formal arrangements or travel plans. There is no commitment to stay the whole 3 weeks people can arrive at any point and stay as long or as short as they like. We are setting these weeks as a guideline to say that's when we are having the "do". Hopefully as we get nearer the time we can plan things to make sure everyone is fitted in. However, they are selling pitches for long stayers, so it cannot be ruled out that restriction on numbers will be applied. As already mentioned, we have an allocation of 30 spaces at present. Naturally, you can also come and go when you want and pay the normal site rates at times / dates that suit you subject to their availability in the event they do not agree to increase the numbers. Tonka and Mr Motorhome are in contact with Rudi (site manager) and will keep him informed.

There is no commitment and no deposit, this is all being arranged with goodwill.

Note: we have been told the weekend of 28th feb 2014 is 'Andalucía Day' a public holiday in this part of Spain (Malaga) and many sites will be very busy. This MotorhomeFUN gathering is to start on 5th - 25th March 2014 (three weeks)

You can visit the La Bella Vista web site HERE for more details regarding the facilities and services, or HERE for the campsite rules.

Co-ordinates are :> n36.20.46 w5.14.11 - Mapcode: (Spain) kv8.cnq - Gps: n36 20.771 w5 14.185
