Hi Jerry

Sorry to hear of the damaged caused to your motorhome.

Whilst not in Sussex as you requested, but Dorset, we have our van booked in with Mike from Go Solent Bodywork on Monday. He came recommended.

I will be able to give you a full evaluation / review of his work come Friday. Initial response from him has been favourable.

I am sure of you send him photos, he will be able to advise of he can repair / approx. costs

If you want anymore details, just pm me and I will forward.

Dave
I've had repairs done by Go Solent and can recommend them. Here is the link with contact details for their website

Also the Impact to a rear corner will have twisted vehicle enough to have caused screen to crack, but not shatter. Sound's like a heavy vehicle to cause that sort of Impact !

If it's an Insurance job, as in replacing damaged panels, bumper and windscreen you can add £3k to that (Min) As repairer's won't volunteer repairing anything as it's cost's them a lot more in time and materials.
But at least it will be back to how it was, or as close to it as possible. Only downside is you will lose a couple years ncb and have to pay the excess.

3k. It don't make sense. The repairs on our little Fiat 500 are £2,500 and you can barely see any damage (photos were uploaded)

These are a couple of images of a friends AT F60 hit at 80mph on the A34 in May, difference in combined speed is 30mph.. The moho has been deemed safe and has been used a lot since.

Auto Trail themselves are doing the repair work this week... a complete new back panel and offside wall plus new shower enclosure. Cost to ensurer is £20k which was sorted out within 4 weeks. The Iveco flatbed that hit him was written off and the company admitted full liability.

Said I would report back once we had work completed by Mike and the team at Go Solent Motorhome Repair - I have to say we were very impressed with quality, cost and timescale.

Would definitely recommend them to anyone seeking to have bodywork repairs to their van.

A few photos below of before / after.

Well at least it's tidied it up is all I can say, and as long as you're happy that's all that matters 🤷‍♂️ I'm sure a lot of funsters would not be, and will comment on the repairs !
What was the cost roughly about a grand cash???
Also noticed the graphic was damaged, presuming they trimmed that back past the tear and not replaced it.

I agree the graphic appears to be trimmed,
Outwardly it looks fine. How can you tell from these photos it’s not a satisfactory repair?

Could you please enlighten us as to what is wrong with it?
Looks perfect to me.

Depends on cost incurred, but still has crack's, although glued and unfinished, they could have been plastic welded, filled and painted. Would have lasted a lot longer, any tension on this will open up again !
As said everyone will have a different view, and everyone to their own, but in my experience this will not last very long.

Now 9 days since incident. Still no action from LV. Not even a go ahead to fix windscreen so I can legally drive the van, I call them every day and all I get is '' were dealing with it'' that is very poor

I would be worried about the corner joint between rear and side walls on that.
And the floor joint.

The repair companies who are quoting for the repair after thorough inspections. Have both said it's structuraly sound and repairable only issue is getting the spares from Adria. Might take Up to 3 months
It might be the angle of the photo but the habitation door gap looks crook
I assume the quotes are labour only and plus parts

Where are you based Jerry, as there are lot's of Adria dealer's dotted about who can list the part's and get them on order???
My dealer (White Arches-Northants) have ordered my part's for warranty repairs said take 8 weeks. Just tell Insurance you going away in it for New Year 🤷‍♂️ bit of a porky but might get thing's shifted along if they think you need a courtesy moho !
Do what you need to do as it's not your fault, as long as it was legally parked on a road wide enough for traffic to pass by.

Definitely repairable, but sourcing a new corner pod is the pain in the bum. It could be plastic welded and filled, but that is not a proper repair to the insurers.

Once you have agreement from the insurers, a good temporary fix can be achieved using a can of expanding foam to seal the hole and hold the corner bumper and pod together. Will keep bad weather out and mean it can still be driven whilst waiting on the repair shop to have space for you

I wont do anything until insurers agree , but of course my 35 years of NCB is buggered and they will charge me much more next year no one to claim off either
Did you not protect your NCD?

We had a total loss a few years ago and our insurance hardly changed. With protected NCD you should not suffer much. However if you change insurance companies, that could be different.
Protected NCD does not stop the premiums rising though. Just means you maintain your current NCD level.
