Solo RH Drive traveller to Europe

Handbrake on, slide across the cab, open window, tap card. slide back to driving seat and go.

No need to overthink it, you will only be a couple of seconds slower than a LHD vehicle.

Sounds perfect you have answered my question Europe here we come didn’t want a barrier whacking me on the head
Yes you can use the 30km lorry gates as long as you stick to under 30km you won’t need to stop at all😊

So you have the time to do this then ??
I'm not being dismissive but I'm honestly surprised at the question. I've been motorhoming solo for around 30 years getting out to pay without any problem and never given it a thought. There's absolutely no need to hurry as the barrier won't come back down until you have cleared the kiosk.

However.......

Sounds dismissive to me and I’m honestly surprised at your answer but hey ho

TBH I didn’t see anything wrong with Spriddler post. I too have never had a problem getting out and walking around. Even with a passenger by the time I have avoided clouting the mirror on anything I am too far from the machine for the passenger to be able reach the machine.
Guess next time we are in Europe we will try a toll tag.

The slowest way to do tolls is as a group of bikers……that really does wind up following motorists when we have all fiddled with gloves, tickets and money.😁

I’m surprised anyone would be surprised at a question on a forum anyway I won’t bother with anymore I found it quite belittling

Tag is best but dont worry unbelt your self scurry across to the other window and pay via whatever method...its fine.

And depending on the place you put the tag in the window sometimes can be picked up earlier than others.

I'm disappointed that you feel that way. I've been a contributor here for nearly nine years and in more than 8,000 posts (and 39,000 'appreciations') I have always endeavoured to be helpful. I don't see it any more challenging than than getting out for a pay and display ticket at a car park.
I wrote that I was surprised that in 30 years I hadn't given any thought to it having the potential to be a problem.

I'm sure you can pay up front for a sticker to put on your windscreen so you can just drive through them. Someone on here will know more than me about it I think:unsure:

Yep.
Emovis tag (others are available) more of a "device " transponder though than a sticker

I’ve read loads of your posts in the relatively short time I have been on here and never thought of you as being antagonist or other than helpful. Let it go eh?

How do you cope with paying tolls when sat at the other side
Take your time, don't feel rushed, it happens and many of us have to do it. If you get flustered because cars are behind you I guarantee you will drop your card or similar. They can wait an extra minute for you

Tales From The Peage ... by I.M.A Knob

LH drive USRV.. dropped the debit card and on another occasion the toll ticket.. ...ooops

now that is embarrassing, especially when it's blown under the moho and you have to use the habitation door to exit.. lol

on another occasion I caught the passenger door mirror on a steel stanchion .. ripped it clean off.. picked it up and then screwed it back on at the peage lay-by .. after that episode I always used the wider truck lane

all good fun and great memories..

I was stuck at an Italian toll the other day with the barrier up! The drivers behind were not happy. I had put my ticket in followed by my card as usual and the barrier opened BUT the machine didn't return my credit card. Eventually after about 15minutes of chaos a guy came along gesturing angrily. I kept pointing at the card machine slot and he finally opened the machine. The previous driver had pushed their ticket into the card slot and my card following it had jammed the machine 😡. I couldn't believe how many drivers kept pulling up behind me and getting irate even though I had my hazards on. Nightmare

Near the ports, we have found some riight hand drive toll booths.
