Sold to me as Euro 6 turns out to be Euro 5+

Just a badge means nothing.

It's the badge for Euro 6 engine vehicles. Previous badges were all silver.

Having said that it's not inconceivable that a vehicle could be wrongly badged at the factory. Stranger things can and do happen.

When I first checked my 2015 registered Hymer on the ULEZ site a few months back it showed as non compliant, despite being a Euro 6 Mercedes. It now shows as compliant. I have no idea what has changed but I would suggest that before actually using the zone it would be worth checking on the day, the results have changed and might do so again.

Further to previous post might be worth taking a screen shot of the ULEZ screen showing compliance, could be useful if they subsequently get awkward about it.

thats wrong you need euro 6 to avoid the charge coming to london next year
Also as from 2020 the emission requirements for the LEZ become the same as for the ULez. sneaked that one in didn't they ?

Is that your actual quote or just the price list?

Brochures & Price lists always have a get out clause on them saying they reserve the right to change the specification.

Unless you have it stated on the order form or the quotation I don't think you will have much luck.

Ours is petrol. :gum:

Hi how can you tell if you’re Fiat is a euro 6 thank you.terry

@Stewart J there should be a printed paper label somewhere on your engine, most likely the plastic timing cover at the offside end of the engine. It should have two or three barcodes on it and several numbers.

If you can find it, what does it say under "Tipo Omolagato"? It should start with F1AE or F1AG. The former is a Euro 5+ engine, the latter Euro 6.

Just checked ours and Fiat COC says build was July 16 and HYMER COC is October 16
Both state ours is a EURO 6 (y)
I bought it as a EURO 6 and would have probably upset the dealer driving through their showroom accidentally ;)

As mentioned earlier my van is euro 5+ but shows as being compliant with ULEZ which says Euro 6 is the acceptable standard. So either August 2016 vehicles are classed as compliant, or Euro 5+ is compliant or my vehicle is on the system as Euro 6.
Either way I am able to take my van where I want.

I hate to be pessimistic but if your van is not actually registered as Euro 6 it will end in tears. My understanding is that Euro 6 was accepted as being the standard for future years and anything else will sooner rather than later fall foul of future restrictions and fees.

Euro 6 Good
Euro 5+ Bad!

Yes very strange , I found the same thing out as well. When I last checked I wasn't compliant but checked yesterday having read this thread , I'm now compliant .
They even wrote to me several months ago informing me I wasn't compliant but as I live within the ULEZ I had until 2022 to change the van or pay the charge from then.

hi guys my van left the factory on the 5th jan 2017 and was reg on 1/3/2017 it carries the same badge as seen already if you dont have the coc if the engine number starts with F1AG as seen on the v5 then its a euro6

This is interesting as there seems to be a difference in what TFL are classifying as compliant. I've just checked my Euro 5+ Malibu PVC and the result is :-
You are subject to the ULEZ.

From 8 April 2019 if you travel in the ULEZ you will need to pay the daily ULEZ charge. This is because your vehicle does not meet the ULEZ standards*.

Cheers

Trevor
The ULEZ works based upon your number plate. I put my 65 reg number plate in and it says "You are not subject to the ULEZ".

The LEZ is based upon fuel type, weight and date first registered. For a diesel over 4.5t you are OK if you were registered after 1 October 2006. The reply said "you are affected by the Low Emmission Zone but already meet the emissions standard".

As I say printed both out and will be kept in the moho just in case.

Edit: it may be because mine has the 3litre engine

The above is an excellent example of future problems for anything which is not Euro 6. I rest my case.

Sadly wild optimism and hope are not able to do anything about future regulations. The writer of the last post would only have 3 years to get rid of his non-Euro 6 vehicle and get one which is compliant.

I wonder if very soon non Euro 6 vehicles will even be sellable?

We have a Citroen 2CV but in 3 years time it will be banned from entering Paris, Lyon and other major cities in France. Who would have thought that is great French iconic little car would ever be banned due to emissions .

Mine definitely says F1AG
But if the Germans could cheat the emissions tests I bet the Italians knew someone they could pay and not even bother doing them (y)
Just Saying ;)

Just checked and the ULEZ will only cover the area of the present Congestion Charge. After 2021 it will cover the area inside the North and South Circular roads. Doubt I will ever take my beast in far enough to ever affect me.

All this flap about Euro 6:Eeek:
Euro 7 will be out next week:doh:

2.5K for a camera to watch yer waste empty , Some folk want their bumps feeling:rofl::rofl::rofl:

You seem to have gotten yourself into a right panic over this.

Seeing as there are people still happy to purchase second hand motorhomes that aren't even Euro 1 compliant I can't see that happening anytime soon.

Your Euro 6 vehicle will be subject to the same prohibitions before too long. It isn't a future proof standard set in stone. There is already talk of penalizing Euro 6 engines that aren't also RDE-2 compliant.

My Euro 5+ is currently London LEZ compliant, but would cost me £12.50 a day to enter the ULEZ. Yes, that will change in the next couple of years, but I have no overwhelming urge to drive my MH into London now, so I'm not sure why it should concern me.

My car is ULEZ and LEZ compliant, but given the choice I'd already rather get the train/tube, and when at some future stage it no longer is compliant it will be cheaper to use the train anyway.

Are you really going to spend thousands of pounds changing your MH every couple of years to avoid a relatively small charge on the odd occasions that you might need to enter city centre zones. I could pay for a hell of a lot of trips into central London before it became economic for me to consider changing my van ;)

Interesting concept @Deneb Two weeks full board on a train:rofl::rofl::rofl:

You must be a lightweight, over 3500kg it's £100 a day.

Yep, but a lot of 'em pay more than that for a TV, and there's plenty of Sh*t on that too :D

If the OP complains the answer will be "we did not sell it you, you bought it".

As the owner of an MH first registered in 12/1999 fitted with an Iveco engine probably a Euro 00, I don't understand the fuss.

Wow what a can of worms
Not sure if local worms are still allowed post Br---t and what about dumping your waste seems quiet
Going to check my 66 plate but hey oh 2040 hope i will still be posting

A daily charge could soon rack up if you had to leave the MH inside a LEZ / ULEZ for several days or even weeks while it is being fixed.

Other than that, getting a MH seemed all about getting away from big cities not driving into them.
