Slightly concerned - We are on evacuation notice in Malaga!

So I have made it to my second choice high point, first was still too close to the river… 🤦‍♂️

Very jaunty angle on the Moho, not put the legs down, so good for draining the rain off the roof… plenty of water flowing in all directions away from my point! So all safe here… impossible to flood unless there is a 200m tsunami! It’s now raining and I mean proper raining and the wind is now pretty intense! Only saw one other moving vehicle on my way here… it’s like Covid times again!

Rene’s taxi showed up this morning and she was at the airport three hours before her flight. It’s delayed a bit, but the plane she’s is getting is on the deck so she should be away soon!

Granddaughter is in surgery at the moment. It’s all going on isn’t it! 🤪

Anyway, thanks again to all for the concern and encouraging messages to get myself out of the flood plain… I’ve 300l of water, 90% charged batteries, empty grey, two empty cassettes, 20l of gas… I’m calling that good for at least two weeks, except for food! 🤣

Stay safe everyone!

I live in the Valencia area.

The authorities are crapping themselves with the local reactions to the Valencian floods.

The prime minister, king & queen were pelted with mud & rocks during their "Photo-Op Walkabout".

Served them damn right too. Azzholes. Why didn't they turn up with shovels and brooms to help?

Their security team halted the rescue operation for TWO HOURS before the twats got there.

Anyway...

We got the mobile phone alerts 24 hours AFTER the storm hit.

Regardless, I'd be heading for the hills right now.

It's totally legal to park overnight in Spain as long as you don't put out your awning, table. chairs etc.

Norm.

Great news on all three accounts Harvey. (y) I'm glad you made the right decision to vacate to higher ground. Never mind the grub, more importantly, ie, did you stock up with the beer and/or wine? ;)

Stay safe. (y)

Jock. :)

Good to hear that all appears so far to be going to plan. 🤞 🤞 That your wife gets away & granddaughter's surgery goes well. stay safe.

So glad you moved. Stay safe. This weather is giving me the jitters ! We due out on 25th heading to La Cala Finestrat. Really wondering what to do

Granddaughter is out of surgery, just had a short FaceTime with her! Looks like the flight has or is just about to take off… cheese and ham toasty (need a bit of comfort food in adverse circumstances) is cooking in the Ridge Monkey! ✔️😜

We're in Castilla la Mancha at the motorhome area of Villarobledo. It's raining here but not heavy, we're on the edge of the DANA here, which is centred, as normal, along the coast. (It's heavier where we live in the Murcia region, but our 3rd floor apartment should be OK).

This weather system is normal but the amount of rain isn't. Keep watching the forecasts and listening to advice and you'll soon be able to enjoy the sun again.

Pleased you are sorted. Mrs B has just got a video through from our place near Riviera. The BP garage at la Cala has been hit by a mini tornado. It looks like it has suffered a fair bit of damage.
Take care all of you out there.

I am really glad you moved pre-emptively. Better safe than sorry.

Hope your wife has a safe journey and grand daughters op goes well.

Stay safe.

Quick question WRT lightening! I’m currently experiencing strikes all around me, like 10’s of meters away. It’s VERY intense! How safe is a leisure vehicle with six rubber tyres and a composite body? I’m assuming it’s not that attractive to the ‘electricity in the sky’ as a route to earth as I’m insulated by the rubber boots?

Yours hopefully! 🙏

Ask Taran_Las ….

Our caravan was hit by lightening and it took out the electrobloc thingy.

Keep safe!

Inside the van you are really safe, in the middle of a Faraday cage. Literally nowhere safer.
Doesn't mean the van electrics wd be unaffected, mind you..

Did she manage to get off ok? Looks like Málaga airport is closed?

Cliff said ‘don’t go out with wet hair’ - always so helpful..
What Harvey needs to do is fix his pony tail upright with a metal rod connected to a wire trailing on the ground - perfect lightening conductor 🤣

Very cold this morning in Benidorm, there were some extremely black clouds out to sea heading your way!!!
I assume that was the DANA, if I was you I would get to high ground NOW and stay there , don’t wait for the authorities to tell you to move , that will be too late.
Take care and stay safe..
