Sick of fake motorhome awards that deceive the public?

The term PVC is here to stay and widely understood when reading about vans so I don’t think you need to worry. I know occasionally people do ask on here but someone quickly explains. The people who ask aren’t usually looking for a PVC they’re usually just looking at Coachbuilts and A classes.

Lots of abbreviations have more than one meaning depending on context.

How about:

If you had, for example, £40k, or £80k, or £120k etc to spend, on a new motorhome from manufacturer ABCDE what would you choose? Same for used, obviously with lower price points.

Everyone could vote on this based on their perception of value regardless of what they own.

This is getting complicated so, may I simplify by saying, I will give 9/10 points for my award winning MURVI MORELLO 3500kg LWB PVC.

(10 is high, 0 is low then devide the total by the number of entries.

SO, if someone votes 10, and someone else votes 2 =12 decided by 2entries = an average 6)

If its the fake awards you dont like why not as they come up ask members to vote on wether they agree or disagree and why

I think it does happens, Like we had a van in a magazine voted "Best Family Motorhome" ridiculed here.. It had 270kg of payload!

It's only complicated because some people are trying to make it so. Who gave you 10 votes '\

Points Sir, Points! And we all know what they mean. 👍

I don't think it will be complicated

I envisage...we'll have a thread for each category. Say Best Family Van.

We'll nominate some family vans and discuss the nominations in the thread, hopefully the best nominations will become apparent, if not, we'll have a poll to decide on the 4, 5, 6 or whatever number of nominations in that category.

Then on voting day we'll choose, along with all the other categories, which of the nominations, we think, is the best family van. We'll count the votes and announce a runner up and a winner.

There will be many things that affect one's voting, but essentially the winners and runners up will be chosen through the distilled knowledge and opinions of lots of Funsters. (y)

I think it sounds like fun. This is the first place I go for advice on anything van related. Much more interested in the opinions of people on here, some of whom I’ve actually met than random stuff online or in a magazine.

Could we avoid the term “PVC” which is well understood on here but if we want the Awards to be read more widely might be confused with a type of plastic?
Took me ages to realise people weren't talking about poly vinyl chloride ( poly propelyne my favourite maybe poly methyl methacrylate (bet you can see through this post) PVC's TLA's are a PIA.

Comparing mohos would surely only make sense after a major show. So a real world vote based on what was at the show would add lots of value and clear some if the white noise around sales and marketing. Beyond that the awards would probably be better aimed at fun things like best picture, site, aire, chair, air fryer whatever gadget..

Then that would win as it would be the most popular among us. It's how any awards work.
Well it's a 100% in case B and just over 20% in case A, so it would be totally unrepresentative. Look at it the other way, just under 80% of case A don't express satisfaction, compared with 0% of case B. That can't be right.
