Rally Shrewsbury, messing about on the river 2-7 July

Well done Sandra and Colin!
Are we setting a time for messing about on the river today? -(not that I particularly want an audience when I have my first go at paddle boarding 🤣 )

We are grabbing some lunch in town just now. If weather holds out, how does 4pm suit?

I was going to donate on the just giving page for Colin and Sandras Breast Cancer charity swim but as JG take a % I thought it was easier to just walk across the field 👍 when it stops raining, they are in the Carthago with the canoes on a trailer not far away from us😏

We walked to the boat inn today as it looked so nice only to find out it was closed🙄

Big Thanks to funflair and Jen for organising the rally, we had a great time but unfortunately left a bit early to get the new pooch settled in at home before we go back to work in a few days. I was gutted I didn’t get all my electrical stuff together in time to keep Lenny HB busy for a few days but was nice to meet him anyway! Met a few new funsters this weekend and saw some we hadn’t seen for a while👍 Anyway here are some pictures from yesterday’s messing on the river!

Just a reminder for all the Canoe/kayak trip people that the mini bus will pick us up 9:45 from our parking area, we will need masks in the bus and drinks picnic etc for the trip, we will be warm on the paddle but you might want a wind proof for the lunch stop (it might even rain) we will arrive back at our campsite sometime in the afternoon, depending🤔

The canoe hire people have waterproof barrels for stowing stuff in the boats.

We will not find a cafe/pub or toilet on the way so be prepared 😏

If anyone fancies filling in at the last minute there is a place going spare that is already paid for so just turn up in the morning and tell me.
 
I know a few people have left today so I apologise for not waiving you all off, I am also aware that I haven’t managed to get around and talk to everyone, if you have left today thank for coming and we hope you have had a good time.
