Rally Chat Shrewsbury for New Year 2015/16

Just getting prepared to set off. Whats it like up there this morning? Any last minute instructions?

John

Windy night last night, not much sleep, van rocking even with the jacks down, ground reasonable but raining now, plenty of road to keep your wheels on though. Entrance road still closed but water going down so if the sign is still up follow the previous instructions.

Come on down.

Martin

Dont worry Martin. Im sure they ll soon find you a tractor if you get stuck.

best bread shop is the one by the station, next best is probably Morrisons Whitchurch rd easily bikable, if you go under the low railway bridge do a left and its about a mile up there.

Hope you have a great new year

Jon

Just had to 're fix our silver screens I'm now cold wet and wind swept
I noticed that, I was going to rush out and help you secure them then I noticed it was persisting down and blowing a gale so I quickly came to my senses and stayed here in the warmth, but I was with you in spirit. :xrofl:

I was sat in Wetherspoons, watching the rain bounce off the pavement, having just scoffed a curry, and downed 2 x pints of Abbot Ale. Going out in that weather was the last thing on my mind.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Just started on the jagermiester bombs anyone who comes to my van needs an umbrella....bloody rapidos

@funflair, It wouldn't have been the night it was, had you and Jen not started the ball rolling by organising the Meet. All credit to you both (y) And @meanders, what a great choice of music. Nice one. (y)

A great night was had by all, and boy, what a spread provided by one and all. Absolutely smashing grub. (y)

Cheers,

Jock & Rita. :)

Most of it's left Kate :xblush:

Had a fabulous night. Didn't rise until late and just chilling at the moment. Music was great last night as was the company. I'm not to sure about the alcohol consumed by myself. So many new things tried. I was blaming Haganap but I think Peteandsal might have something to do with it as well.

Thank you Martin &. Jen for a great New Year and Meanders for the music, the food in fact just a brilliant meet.

First meet , treated so well , special thanks to Hilary and Robin for the wonderful cake and helping us to fit in. will try now to remember names and faces , hope to see you all again Alan & Barbara

yep we are home,
Van cleaned and ready to go away again, stopped for a breakfast and bumped in to @Badknee so had a good natter.
Betty made a new friend and now knacked,
<Must say, did have a few reservations about spending time on a wet muddy field in shropshire but Martin and Jen done a fantastic job in very difficult conditions. We had a ball loved it loved it loved it.... great new years night and parked on a hard road was just great... @meanders thank's for the music great effort.

Thanks for the thanks everybody, but more importantly thanks for making it a great meet and making it so easy to organise.

We drove straight off the field, Kaye and Dave's Concorde was actually in a wetter spot than us and it sank ha ha.

Anyway thanks to the jacks for lifting the wheels clear and my wooden boards we managed to eventually get in onto the road.

We do have some photos and @KayeB has a video so when we get sorted I will do a masterclass in getting 6.5 tons of motorhome out of a field once it has dug itself in.

Martin and Jen

We too are home.

A brilliant few days of great company even though the conditions were testing. Everyone mucked in to make it a true Fun meet. Special thanks of course to Martin and Jen for making it happen.

See you all soon we hope.

Hilary and Robin
