In Aragon there are some great vistas and walking at the following:

  • Alquezar
  • Ainsa
  • Murillo Gallego (especially Riglos)
  • Cañón del Río Lobos Natural Park, Spain

There are campsites near all these places.

Also for something different, Tarifa, on the southern most tip of Spain. It's where all the surfers go so if you're fed up of mingling with the over 50s/60s/70s then it makes a refreshing change. Or San Sebastian (just for a walk on the beach).

I too would suggest as others have:

  • Ordesa
  • Potes (on the edge of Picos de Europa)
  • Ronda
  • Picos de Europa (there's an aire at Posada de Valdeon which is well worth a stop if you like walking)

But also, just go and explore. We can be driving along heading somewhere and you find yourself saying 'this is a really nice place let's find somewhere to stop'. That's how we came across most of the places in Aragon I mentioned above.

Forgot to mention Albarracin a defo must visit, awesome area.
We ve wanted to visit Albaracin but put off by the only option being a fairly small campsite quite a way from the town. How are people doing it?

By very scenic roads does that mean narrow bendy roads with overhanging rocks and tight corners?
Its a good road that you can plod along. There are loads of lay-bys along the route where you can pull in to take in the scenery or take photos. No one seemed in to be in a hurry. It is bendy but safe.

Thanks that looks easy enough, what was your start point N625 or N621?

Started on N-621 stayed at Camping la Viorna at Potes. Took a day out at Fuente De and went up in cable car and walked down (quite a trek) then next day continued to Riano and stayed at Camping de Riano which had fantastic views over the village and lake then took N-625 from Riano back to A-8 and stayed at Llanes before heading back to San Vincente de la Barguera and stayed at Camping El Rosal

I saw them doing that in some place in Northern Spain that I can’t remember the name of..

It had a torture museum which I do remember.
That'll be Santillana del Mar with the Torture Museum.

Simple answer just being there , especially in the winter months away from the UK winter , meeting fellow retired motorhomers , just now , as a solo traveller with my dog , trips in UK , gaining confidence , for a winter stay in Spain ☺️🐕

Not necessarily,we took the road out of Riano to Bezanes, looks a bit bendy on the map but I always have a quick look on street view and saw no problems and we have a 8.5m van.👍
We found the worst bit was the N621 Potes to Panes, you need to time your trip so your following the Cruise buses or get out early in the morning before they arrive 🙂

We spent 3 months travelling small towns and villages between La Marina where we live

We also like La Marina, we found it about 7 years ago when our ex son in law moved there

Love El Pinet camper stop, La Marina village, the beach bars especially Blue Monkey and the Urb has some great areas

Lovely area so i’m jealous 👍

Echoing Peniscola - beautiful and more locally touristy rather than being full of people who aren't Spanish. Have to put in a spake for the north&south of Barcelona beaches - Casteldefels & Gava to the south and Calella and Pineda de Mar to the (bit further) north are great places to base yourself for a visit to Barcelona as well as the Costa Brava close to the city.

I've also previously posted about Oropesa near Castellon de la Plana and just above Benicassim. Parts of it remind me of a Thompsons holiday brochure from the 70s - which is supposed to be a compliment! - but I don't think it's terribly motorhome friendly.
