Seven Wonders of Spain, What's Yours?

San Jose is the jewel in the crown, how sad there isn’t a commercial camperstop.
We either stay in the large carpark or at Manuels camperpark a little way North, great for exploring Los Albaricoques and Cortijo del Fraile.

Just spent a lovely afternoon in Cuenca. Beautiful historic town and great paid Aire next to the theatre. On this trip we've also really liked Olite, Carinena, Valencia (for the Falles festival) Villajoyosa and many more. Heading to Soria tomorrow then Logrono.

Caminito Del Rey a real once in a lifetime walk.

Have you been everywhere in Spain? If not, where have you been?
No certainly haven’t been every where. Driven north to south to go to Morocco a couple of times, toured the Pyrenees, had a north Spain holiday travelling about. Never really got on with the country or the way they are. Much prefer other parts of Europe such as France.

We loved our tour around Madrid.
Segovia, Avila, Talavera de la reina, Toledo, Aranjuez, Cuenca and Guadalajara. The satellite, fortified towns, built to protect Madrid and all worth a visit in their own right.

Another 7 down the coast (in no particular order) are Morella, Sant Feliu de Guixols, Castellon de la plana, anywhere between Santa Pola and Guardamar (where we live) La Isleta, Estepona and Sanlucar de Barrameda.

Cities - San Sebastian (Pinchos and views) , Pamplona (you know the bull history... ) , Murcia (Ikea! , trams and great city) , Granada (architecture) , Cordoba (the patios - may), Seville (Plaza de España, and The Parasol) Ubeda and Baeza, 2 smaller towns that we called into for a day and stayed for a week.

We spent 3 months travelling small towns and villages between La Marina where we live and Cordoba (less than 300 miles away), just pottering along slowly and loved every minute.

We have also done the Galicia region where you can discover some real scenic coastal towns without the tourists if you try it out of season.

We have still to explore much of the western side of the country, but look forward to doing so.

Spain 🇪🇸 is best done slowly and savoured along the way 🍷

We would return to all of the above in a flash (and probably will) but will continue to seek out new gems. 😎

The eighth wonder has to be the waiters who pour cidra from a great height into tiny glasses without spilling (too many) drops.

I saw them doing that in some place in Northern Spain that I can’t remember the name of..

It had a torture museum which I do remember.

Any town or village in Asturias. My first experience of it was in a place called Gijon. Must admit to having practised it a lot, myself!

Not done much of Spain, just started in north;
1 We stopped in Morella to break up a journey. Fabulous. Easy parking on way to town off main road and found a quiet restaurant at top of hill with sheltered courtyard and dog friendly.
2 Picos mountains
3 Overnight camper stop at El Moraig with stunning views

They do it in Gijon!

This doesn't come into our top 7, but it's near to home so we can visit it often, so it's a well liked place.

Riopar. North of Cazorla, but not constrained by national park regs for motorhome parking. Been for a bike ride (yesterday) and a walk today.
