Finally getting to need a b2b, before I take everything to pieces what is the white piece of kit behind ebl252.
Was hoping to add a 2nd leisure battery but on previous post seems it will be an expensive option as need to uprated charging capabilities.

Your 3rd photo is a Schaudt B2B, I wouldn't recommend them for Lithium as they charge at a cost 14. 2v and don't shut off or go to a float voltage on the Lithium setting.

I am not so sure that is major problem as we never have the engine running long enough, at one time.

The Hymer fitted Schaudt 121545 works very well on our Exsis-i - charging at 45 amps.

Certainly with our Sterling Power batteries; well within the documented tolerences.

Where are these all located in your Exsis as I have just bought an Exsis 504 and haven’t yet searched for anything other than the EBL?

Edit:I think Lenny HB meant constant 14.4V in his post above.
I have our Schaudt 121525 on the gel setting, which drops down to 13.8V (iirc). But my lithium is mainly charged with solar and I have a manual switch in the d+ to the b2b which is switched off most of the time.

When offgrid PS fitted my Victron/ lithium upgrade they left the Schaudt in, so get 75amps (25 +50) when driving. In your opinion will this be detrimental to the longevity of the batteries then?

The B2B in our new Hymer Exsis-i 580 is located under an access hatch in the floor (under the table).

Very unlikely, but depends on how much LiFePO4 they fitted.

I replaced my Schaudt B2B with a Victron XS, spending all that money on Lithium I didn't see the point of leaving B2B that doesn't have the ideal charging profile for Lithium.

A valid option. But, I already had the Sterling Power lithium from the last van and they been on such a profile for years.

The white box in the second and third pictures looks like it could be a protective cover for the wiring.

I have the Schaudt 25A B2B in parallel with the new 50A Orion XS feeding a Fogstar 280Ah. Works brilliantly. The Orion puts out a full 50A, but the Schaudt only adds about 13A, giving me about 63A charging. Offgrid PS Roger suggested that the Schaudt is 'adaptive charging' thus limiting its own output.

Ours the same but we have 500a of batteries. Not driven long enough to use the B2B much so far.
