SatNav

I understand there are options of a bracket screwed to the console or suckers on the screen or just simple non slip fabrics on the console for a less permanent portable solution. Passenger could always hold it!
Thanks I understand the options but I was wondering where you put yours😁 My current unit is on the centre console and angled towards me so I wonder what view the dashcam would get. I am going to try mine in front of me today if it stops raining to see if I think the dashcam will get a straight on view.

I often think when people have problems with technical things such as sat nav, smartphone etc it's really an RTFI fault.
Mmmm looked in the manual and cant see why my map freezes at certain locations.

Well I'll find out for sure, just ordered one and will report back once it arrives, figured they have a 60 day returns policy at the moment and a £5 off offer with code FIVE4U if you are a first time QVC shopper, that will cover the return postage cost. I'll report back once I know.
Parcel arrived this morning from QVC, unboxed and the outer box has a square which says "Map Updates Included". Started the device up and connected to home wifi and it's now about 10% way through a 4.5 hour device and map update, so I can confirm map updates are included with the QVC supplied device :giggle:

Can anyone recommend a Satnav that actually works? Got a garmin one that is a waste of space, was going to buy a Nuvi one until I looked at some of the reviews!
None are really perfect, map is best but Sat nav although the routes are not perfect they do take the hard work out of it..When I was younger I could drive look at a map and consult an A to Z all at the same time..Not now,,I dare not take my eyes off the road due to atrocious modern driving standards.Plus I am getting OLD. BUSBY.😁

We use 4 different Garmin models, Nuvi 395LM on my Motorbikes, Camper 760 in the motorhome, 660 in one of our cars and 2505.
All perform excellent, lifetime maps which we have never had trouble downloading, we use base camp to plan routes, though one thing we always do is check the route against a paper map before setting off, just to ensure the are NO surprise's enroute.

Well I went ahead and bought the Garmin 780 from QVC and it is the standard Garmin 780 with free map updates. There is no guarantee of lifetime updates but then in 5-10 years time this will probably be old technology and I'll be looking for the something more current. So definitely worth the money IMO.
