It just goes to show Paul how things can be taken in different ways, when you mentioned not being his courier I took it as a joke as that's how your posts had been, Captain Paul aka DHL! Now it seems it wasn't a joke.

If you offer help and support do it because you want to and don't expect anything in return, if you get a thank you that's great but if not then what have you lost? You've still helped someone and that should be sufficient reward.

He is pretty desperate for the brake cylinder so I can understand his frustration at being promised it to then find it was going to be a long time before you went down, if at all. If he'd know he would have to travel up in a vehicle with dodgy brakes to get it, something he hadn't expected to have to do and had this had been the case from the beginning he would likely not have accepted your (kind) offer to get it for him and sorted something else out.

I haven't met him but his way of thinking, views, reactions etc are given on the forum warts and all, if I can understand from afar the challenges that he faces from time to time and how he deals with then those who have met him should also be able to understand him even more.

I don't like talking about him like this, no more than I do anyone else, however to have one or two people drop him without an explanation is bad enough but for you all to do so whilst he's still trying to sort out things is disappointing to say the least.

I understand you are there to have a good time and don't want bringing down with the hassle or different attitude of someone else but you all seem to have pretty much abandoned him en masse and that just seems very unfair regardless.

I don’t think any of the above quotes is hung , drawn and quartered, it is sad for all parties involved, but then shit happens, just move on, it’s a big world out there, all of us are the lucky ones, have a look around the world, millions of people have other things to worry about, like for example where is the next meal for my family going to come from, or a house which is bombed to pieces or their families murdered by some fanatics ……

That's a cop out though, I've had stuff like that thrown at me in the past when I've been trying to sort stuff out, all it does is belittle what needs dealing with so it doesn't have to be, it still needs doing but it then makes the person asking feel bad through no fault of their own.

I have been given permission by Jackie to disclose disclose a confidence she placed in me…

The reason she no longer wants anything to do with tam is because she was put in a situation where she gave him a fair bit of money… plus she was overwhelmed with the constant negativity and moaning…

I believe Tam has done stuff for her without charge so payment in kind?

She has since found out that someone else has also given him several hundreds of pounds besides everything else they have done for him beside the fact that tam has plenty of money of he’s own…

Did he twist their arm? Some people like to help others out. He has never hidden that he has money, he has however stated that a lot of it is locked away and can't be touched. Only he knows what he can afford and he's had quite a few curve balls thrown at him recently which he hadn't expected to have to spend on.

It is up to other people whether they want to come forward or not that have also given to him. All I said at the very beginning I no longer want to be associated with him. And was going to leave it at that….

If you'd just said that then a lot of this wouldn't have happened but making a comment about his character was IMV where it went too far especially when he wasn't given the opportunity to respond. I wouldn't have liked it and doubt you would either.

This could go on and on but I'll briefly answer a couple of your points, when I said captain paul DHL etc that was joking but when I got to Morocco and was trying to help Tam get his brake cylinder suddenly it wasn't urgent after all, then once he got the van painting started it suddenly was urgent again and I was totally confused so I looked into possible postage or Moroccan couriers but Tam shot that idea down which was fair enough but just by chance I saw that Steve Barchetta was in the same town as me and heading south so I went out of my way to find him actually waiting outside his campsite for nearly an hour when he thankfully appeared and I could get the brake cylinder and hose dispatched to Tam, at no time was i aware of any timescale put on me bringing it all down, I only said I was bringing to Morocco Tam knew when I was coming over he could of stayed slightly north instead of expecting me to fly down south with it i brought to Morocco from Ireland, the least I thought Tam could do was make some kind of effort to come up a bit but he insisted his brakes were too risky but these are the same risky brakes he's decided to leave Tafroute where he got his painting done he has travelled 100s upon 100s of miles further down southern Morocco and is now coming back up several more 100s of miles still on these very dodgy brakes he was so worried about and he hasn't even met up with Steve Barchetta yet for the brake cylinders so surely you can see my frustration that he needed the brake cylinder urgently as he could get killed but yet and all he's upped sticks out of Tafroute and driven literally 100s of miles in all directions & terrains actually getting further away from Steve & the brake cylinder and gas hose he so urgently needs
As regards your comments about giving without expecting thanks as I've said previously above, I had mentioned none of any of this between Tam & myself until he went on his thread earlier today and telling you all how bad I was and how much I was a bad friend etc even though in his description he describes me as just an acquaintance I never expected anything in return, but I'm not his lackey
Anyway as I've said good luck to him I wish him no ill will but I'm just leaving him to it

As far as I'm concerned the matter is and should be closed, as others have said above this matter should be dealt with and kept outside the forum which is exactly what I had being doing for almost a week now, it was actually Tam and his returning thread posts that brought me and our fall out on to MHF I never wanted all this to go public but what's done is done, I'm looking forward to meeting up with Garry & the rest of the funsters out here for a few beers, good company and some fun in the sun

On my morning wander to the thunderbox I happened to notice peoples voltage stabilisers were showing around 150v. It does make me wonder how long this can go on without causing issues? There are probably 100 Mhs in here and I imagine at least 30 of them are on ehu.

Not sure but we did see two South Korean vans in Asilah. A 9 month drive for them.

What a trip that is, hats off to him, when we had the bigger van we were in Tallin to see the Joey Dunlop memorial and crash site and were thinking about heading into Russia and St Petersburg but were strongly advised against it as apparently they could just take your van from you and leave you standing by the side of the road and there's sweet FA you can do about it! This was obviously away before Ukraine but would of loved to have done it, but I'll maybe rent an old Ford fiesta next time to do it!

In other news….

The girls went for their massage yesterday and I had a walk around town of Mirleft which was quite nice, a little tourist Street for the like of us then the rest of the town, had a nice coffee (unusual for me) and snuck in an ice cream for me who the gils weren’t there..

Managed to get some pictures as I wasn’t driving and it looked stormy on the way back but the rain held off until the early hours of this morning….
Went and had some dinner last night which was excellent around €45 with beer and wine for all of us.

Jackie has moved on today and we will be getting ready today to leave tomorrow…
