Residency

Can the NLV visa now be used to negate the 90 day rule ?

Assuming you meet the financial and medical insurance requirements and can provide a Spanish address.
Now that the 183 day "must stay" rule has been dropped, does this mean if you stay for less you will remain outside the Spanish Tax system?

Will renewing the visa after year one and then subsequently every 2 years allow you to come and go as you please?

As far as I am aware. The rule is for NLV. You cannot be absent from Spain for more than 10 months in 5 years.

So , 8 weeks per year. So that does not suit us.

Our lass spends about quarter of her time in UK.

She shows her NIE card at airport here, not her passport.

My current understanding is that if you wish to progress with full residence, then that is the requirement, however if you continue with the NLV just keep renewing it after 2 years. I may be mistaken but worth looking at?

I would wish to proceed with full residency. Thats is why it does not work for us.

Thanks though

I thought I had posted this but cannot find it.

I checked my Polish Resident Card and it is valid until 2031, so must have been issued for 10 years, not bad.

It is a bit crazy that there is no harmonisation.
My German residency is for 5 years, not sure if that goes for renewal as well after the first one, will see in 2028......
