Requirement to wear masks has returned !

It doesn't take long for the bickering to start on a covid thread :D

The government have washed their hands of covid. It needs to spread through the population and weaken , most of us on here are in the last ¼ of our lives , it's make you own life choices time.

Using public bathrooms in shopping centres, my kids regard washing their hands and playing with the electric soap dispenser and dyson-variant hand dryer a great thing - unlike nearly half the other people who just walk out afterwards.

Why on earth would you use a hand drier in a smelly public loo. Shake your hands and they are dry in a minute. I grimace as I leave and look at those people queing to put their head and hands in a jet stream of others poo particles.

I suppose it will if it encourages others to wear one.
Unless it's a mandatory requirement from the government I think mask wearing for the masses is over , most don't even carry one now.

The only place I've seen them worn is in the doctors surgery but the nhs has dropped that requirement now.

I think hand washing is very important.

So many times I see men using the gents toilets and leave without washing their hands. And that’s not just a número uno !.

Mrs. ET says women are just as bad.

Don’t you just love contactless payments ?
Yes, they are.

You will probably see more people wearing again, we shouldn’t have stopped wearing masks in public places (indoors) follow Zoe Science and prof Christina Pagal

I think you're being hopeful if you think people will go back to wearing masks without a law forcing them to , same as on a boat , what are they going to do , it might be a rule but it's not a law broken if people ignore it

It’s not law to take precautions when having sex some do some don’t and we all know that some are lucky, some get an sti and some pay financially for that moments pleasure for the next couple of decades.

People have a choice in both scenarios of sex and Covid science tells us what to do to reduce risks no government intervention or law required.

Personally I’m risk adverse in these scenarios but others no so much.

If you wear a mask whenever you enter a building or on public transport you're probably in the 1% that do

I haven't worn one since they said I didn't have to

Yep, totally agree.
Shame we don’t have contactless door handles on toilet block exit doors. We all have to use the door handle after those manky twats. 🤬

Yup I’m in the smaller percentage that continues to wear a mask.

Not wearing a mask in shops etc etc places you at greater risk. No one is forcing you to wear a mask 😷

I wish you well I hope you are lucky

Today I've been out shopping and wearing a FFP2 mask. In case I am one of those asymptomatic cases. I don't know if I have Covid, but the Duxette has just tested positive. BTW - only about 5% of those in the store wore masks.

I also have continued to wear a mask and will do till it’s gone which may be never.

Yup ours are FFP3 it makes total sense when our shopping you don’t know where the person standing next to you has been in contact with.

Update - negative LFT result for me. Not that it means much. Meanwhile I am feeling a bit under the weather.

Does it have an exhale valve to make it more comfortable to wear?
If it does then you are not protecting anyone else.

Also has it been fit tested for you as again if it has not and you haven’t donned it correctly then it’s offering very little protection.

No valve. And I do ensure that it is a tight, close fit (no leaks at the edges) every time even if it becomes uncomfortable. I can put up with it because my weekly supermarket shop only lasts 40 minutes max. Preferably on Mondays after the mums head off on their school runs. Been using quality certified FFP2 masks from a medical supplies company for many months now. Not cheap ones. And I use plenty of hand sanitiser.

Sensible use. Good one
Just also make sure your clean shaven.

Here is the real science as if it will make a difference!View attachment 638643
The virus isn't floating freely in you breath. It is found within droplets of water. Masks reduce the number droplets being flung into the air.

But as you say, who listens to the science in these post-expert days?

Only if it has been fit tested for you and you are wearing it correctly. Donned correctly and fit checked.
Otherwise no it does not
Donned correctly and seals against the skin, but also have to say a mask even if not properly fitted will reduce the incidence of infection. There are no guarantees people won't get infected but taking reasonable steps reduces the odds
