We are selling up, yep everything, and leaving the carousel so here are a few questions for the experts, there's a ton of info on the interweb, too much 🙄, but I'd rather ask the peeps who live it!

How do you maintain a UK footprint (as we will have no offical home address) for GP, postal/proof of address for future return and buying a new home?

Which Medical Insurance is best?

Pet Insurance (Already have Pet passport)?

Which Security devices are essential without it adding armour plating, canons and anti personel mines, which is illegal?

Worth getting a roll of fake grass or outdoor mat?

Internet access will be essential, how does that work?

Controversial subject, generator or powerbank?

I should imagine that a lot of sites will already be getting booked up, as we are still planning, which areas welcome off site parking for a limited time only as I forsee we will struggle to get the best sites?

What is the average cost per night at an established site with ablutions, power, water etc?

We are mega serious about this, it will happen so any other recommendations will be welcome?

Thanks in advance campers!

Tried not to be but I'm curious... What comment was this in response to but more importantly was does being male have to do with it?

I thought it was obvious, it was an answer to Tams post which seems to imply that , if your over 50 and broke/homeless, the state will look after you.

It won't if your responsibly healthy and single male. They come a long way down on any help list!

Here's a useful tip that I discovered and use regularly now. If you want to see what something was in reply to - just click on the name of the poster in the quote (there's a little up arrow next to it) and it will take you back to the original post.

That's true but above my answer in post #56 was what I was referring to? 🤔

Thanks, that is indeed a great bit of knowledge - thank you.
But only works if the original question is quoted.

Thank you. Not sure I agree but at least I understand! Cheers.

@ l'hobo, Trust me. Being female is NOT easier.

If you are male the women feel sorry for you. Bring you apple pies, cups of coffee, etc. If you are female you are either seen by some men as easy prey and must be desperate, or by women as a threat. No apple pie. 😉

If disabled, both sexes have the same medical requirements, etc.

(This does not apply to ALL males or females of course).

Sorry Russ3376 we diverse... It's a great life if you are young (under 55) and healthy and you meet some great, and some very, very interesting, people. Good luck, sunshine, in any venture you take.

Hi, movan lovely to see that your posting again! 👍

BUT, I still have to disagree when it comes to housing, in my experience, when it comes to ACCOMODATION, it's far easier for a single female to be housed than a single male.

I won't go on AGAIN about, 'so called' single mother's who gets themselves pregnant just to get accommodation and still have the boyfriend staying for long periods. 😡

As for the rest, I'm sure your right, life isn't easy IF one is kind, honest and principaled.

Too many kind people GIVE of themselves, their money, time and many other things, often to selfish individuals who are only willing to take and not return!

Thank goodness, after looking after MYSELF for the past, sometimes desperate, 70+ yrs,
(ALL/MOST of which have been of my own making) ...When I have asked for nothing without giving back, I am now old enough to be selfish, free to wander off for a time by myself, without anyone worrying and caring OR BRINGING ME APPLE PIE! 😄

Take care, post again soon, Owen

I worked at the CAB for some time. We often had to try to find emergency accommodation for people who were in crisis. It was desperately sad knowing that single males with semi-decent health would be turned away. The younger they were the less chance they had. The accommodation just does not exist, or certainly not in our area. Honestly its not a great deal better for others and its heartbreaking.
