I'll bet your Paul's really looking forward to that Mo. :Rofl1: (I knew what you meant really.)

JJ, Level parking, loads of sun for the solars, an onsite "Chuck Wagon", and all within close proximity of the town. :thumb: It looks like you've got it "sorted".

I hope you get a good turn out.

Cheers,

Jock.

You will soon be inundated JJ, don't worry it's not painful - depending on who turns up. :Rofl1::Rofl1:

With the possible arrival of Royalty in the form of Smudger and Old-Mo I suppose I better inform the site officials so they can order the red (spit) carpet in good time...

37.118956,-8.530247 on Google Maps is the roundabout by the entrance I believe.

By this time next month, all being well, I will be parked at the Tivoli Marina Parking Area, Praia de Rocha, Portimao.

I will be there most of February.

Any Funsters who want to drop by to say "Hi" will be most welcome.

Many campsites with better facilities in the area including "our own" Chicken Run...

...but I am pretty sure none are better priced!

Hope to pop in for a few days, JJ... :thumb::BigGrin:

At the moment we are camped at a campsite in Totana, Spain and will be staying a few more days before heading over your way. We are planning on staying at Pedros for one or two weeks.

We were also planning to visit you at Quinta Majay, as we have some goodies for you, it may work out that we will see you at Praia de Rocha instead. However, we would still love to visit your place of paradise on our way home. Unfortunately, this year, we have to be back in blighty by end of February, so could still make the meet.

We have your number ending in 790 if that still stands, so will be in touch nearer the time, if we can't get internet.

See you soon.

We set off on Monday :wooo: heading for Zahora for Old Mo's party and then who knows :Eeek: but we hope to stop off for a day or two :thumb:

algarve meet

Has a date or dates been decided in February we should be heading out of UK in around 10 days time, should be in Portugal by start of month may go to camping and caravan rally at Albefura but need to book this. Some idea of when to meet for rally would be appreciated as we will be in Portugal for most of February.

Hi there Polar Bear.

I will be at the Praia de Rocha camping place from Feb 3 onwards.

I imagine Funsters will drop by, some liking it and staying and others spending some time chatting etc before returning to their better equipped sites in the area.

This will not be a super organised and run Funster meet such as the ones Haggers or Jim arrange!

This will be even more informal than those.

If enough people get together we could decide to go for meals in a group if we want or we could all go off to the Iceland supermarket or Silves castle etc.

Maybe we should start a list of those interested in visiting and what dates...

JJ.

PS. I am here now... but off to Church soon (Sermon starts at 2.05 and is live on TV in some bars) after brekky in the Vasco Da Gama cafe/restaurant...

Hi JJ

We will hopefully be passing thru about then. We'll see if we can pop in.

I have fond memories of anchoring in Alvor lagoon when we were sailing (2006).

Cheers

John

Last week of February is as near as we can get. Lucky win today so I hear, still you have to be a bit lucky to become champions.

As this location offers Funsters three different surfaces to park on I am not sure how things will work out.

There is no booking.

I usually park far away from the front gate on the grass/gravel area.

What I imagine happening is each of you pull on and have a look around and see where you prefer to park.

As soon as two or three Funsters arrive and park I am sure they will fly the Fun Flag.

I will have my Flag displayed in the Rufty Tufty Area where there is loads of space to spread out... :thumb:

I only imagine a few of us here at the same time but who knows... It might build into a huge Funster Fest!

By the way... There are lots of really nice people on here who are living in the darkness and are not Funsters.

february in algarve

We are planning on stopping for a week at Albefura camping from 28th Jan on route to the meet. There is a camping and caravan club rally at this site. I rang yesterday to book through the club and they wanted a £25 booking fee. So I rang site direct the person who answered the phone spoke English and the price quoted with electric was 14.26 Euros and no booking fee which is a lot cheaper than through camping club. Just pay on arrival. Hope information useful to other travellers.:thumb:
