I boarded the Portsmouth ferry Nov 2nd in my RV with no problems, no payments for CAZ.

When focusing on specific areas, do not loose sight of the ever growing interest and ultimately growing number of zones, either emissions or congestion.
Much easier than mandatory EV stop vehicle use, a little like the magician focus your attention away from the action.

Two reasons - one, the ferry port is not in the zone, so provided you come off the motorway and follow the signs you won't be charged; and two, it doesn't start until the end of this month (29th November) - when the international port will still be outside the zone.

Bad luck for anyone going to the Isle of Wight though - if your vehicle attracts the charge, I would suggest using Red Funnel at Southampton or (New Forest traffic jams notwithstanding) the Wightlink Lymington to Yarmouth crossing

There's the kebab van up there too opposite the Churchillian pub plus QA hospital below you for when you get gastro enteritis.
Seriously, if you want to be sure and avoid the CAZ skip the M275 into the city, continue east and come down the A2030 Eastern Road.

Just remember to keep you blinds closed at night. The hill top car parks attract a certain clientele after hours . . . .

The Portsmouth cross channel ferry terminal is outside the clean zone area. The Isle of weight ferry terminal is in the zone area.

clean air zones have nothing to do with pollution .It's a way to gradually build a camera network for road pricing that and average speed cameras will cover all major routes and city centers my guess is within 5 years
