According to the first post of this Thread it is; reference to £50 chargePortsmouth port is not in the zone
Ok. Needs further research. Though why they would want to fine thousands of ferry customers is beyond me. BF will have something to say about that.According to the first post of this Thread it is; reference to £50 charge

I am in contact with the CAZ helpline and she is convinced it’s in.Ok. Needs further research. Though why they would want to fine thousands of ferry customers is beyond me. BF will have something to say about that.
When the Manchester CAZ is up and running I won’t be able to access my home in either my car 28 yrs old or my moho 15 yrs old as their both have dirty enginesThis is the start of a slippery slope, all towns and cities will eventually want the revenue these schemes raise,

You need a foreign van Paul. They don't bother us.When the Manchester CAZ is up and running I won’t be able to access my home in either my car 28 yrs old or my moho 15 yrs old as their both have dirty engines
You can avoid it by taking the right fork into Princess Anne Road, right at the lights into Flathouse Road, find a spot to spin round and return out via Princess Anne Road northwards on to the M275 again. Easier to fill up and cheaper at Tesco Northarbour or Sainsburys, Broadcut Fareham though.Anyone, who uses the Shell garage to top up just after the entrance to the ferry terminal will now have to find another garage as this one is going to be just inside the new zone . So beware.
Yes fineLooking at the maps posted, it seems Port Solent is also outside of the zone.
So we're ok for overnight stays?
Weightlink??Received this morning.
Good Morning Paul,
Are you referring to the International Port? If so, this port isn't in the CAZ so you get into it without the charges if your vehicle is non-compliant. I was talking Weightlink so we might have misunderstood each other. There's a CAZ Google map that you can use to look up location/address :

Seems no one can make an honest mistake anymore, like not making it clear which port/terminal they are referring to. And who knows, "Weightlink" could be the demon spell checker at work correcting Wightlink.Weightlink??
I think she needs to do her homework full stop!
Just goes to show that had you not done your research, you could have bought a permit and waisted £50 or £100 just on bad advice from the company that oversees charging.
Thanks for that link. We have been invited to stay at our daughter's place in Pompie for Krizzy, was worried about the CAZ zone which looks very close to hers. It's come up with NO CHARGE for our van! Not sure I want to trust the website though, as using our normal route there briefly goes inside the zone, just. One wrong turn, zap!Seems no one can make an honest mistake anymore, like not making it clear which port/terminal they are referring to. That said, can't imagine that Wightlink are too chuffed to see that they fall into the CAZ, making what is apparently, mile for mile, already one of the most expensive ferry crossings in the world just a tad more expensive. You have to search quite hard on their site to find reference to the CAZ. Still, won't effect me, just checked on https://cleanerairportsmouth.co.uk and our old girl is fine . . . .
I fear this is just the beginning, like London the zones will increase in size year on year until there is no longer a way to avoid paying these stealth taxes. The M25 is the boundary that is now in the planning stage.Looks like when the greater manchester clean air comes in.......
Getting to M60 (1 mile) £50
If I drive through London (which I don't ) £200
Get Diverted or lose my way through Brum or Pompey.....£50 + £50 .....
Yet a gas guzzling super car is no charge
Plus the amount of newer euro 5/6 diesels, even petrol with knackered engines I see on the road spewing out black smoke.
Mind Boggles
Don't quote me but if you followed the link and bunged your van's details into the checker and it says "no charge", that means you are free to roam Portsmouth at will. Parking a moho in Pompey on the other hand . . . the second most densely populated City outside London with on street parking that reflects that . . .Thanks for that link. What car is it ?When the Manchester CAZ is up and running I won’t be able to access my home in either my car 28 yrs old or my moho 15 yrs old as their both have dirty engines
There's a 2.1m barrier at the Portsmouth P&R! So where can we park? I know, the street outside their house... Where we can park for a small charge pre-registered on t'internet. It's a pvc, even so it's slightly wider than the white parking lines, but I've never been fined. We even had discussed overnighting in it, as it's in a 20mph zone. I think most car drivers think it's a 120mph zone. So we wouldn't get much sleep.Don't quote me but if you followed the link and bunged your van's details into the checker and it says "no charge", that means you are free to roam Portsmouth at will. Port Solent, only a 5 minute drive into the town from there. There's a 2.1m barrier at the Portsmouth P&R! So where can we park? I know, the street outside their house...
