Please can someone explain why motorhomers need these things? I can see they are ideal for tenters, maybe even for a caravanner but why for a motorhomer. We can fit as much fit and forget solar real estate on the roof that we have space for, we can lithiumise our leisure battery system to very chunky, We can install an inverter that will run the toaster or microwave oven, even a hair dryer god forbid, And NONE of this requires carrying about, its all in place ready to be used. So why would you want to lug about, find somewhere to store one of these lumps. Asking for a friend!!

"Bought an EcoFlow Delta 2 (refurbished) as a stop-gap after my Lithium battery (plus Inverter plus B2B) fitment was delayed prior to my Poland trip earlier this year.
Did the job, and pretty much recharged to full whilst underway via the 12v socket. Once I had the Lithium upgrade, sold it on to a mate (plus unused 160W solar panel) without financial loss, as it was by then surplus to my needs.
I understand the whole 'portable' thing, with associated uses outside of the van, but lugging a fairly substantial weight around without a dedicated home/fixture in the van (PVC) is not ideal IMO."

....The above is a cut n' paste from my reply to an earlier thread on this topic. I now have fitted a Fogstar drift 230Ah lithium under the driver's seat, a Victron Phoenix 1600W Inverter mounted horizontally behind the passenger seat, and a 50W Victron B2B.
I use a L'or coffee pod machine, and a Russel Hobbs 1350W air fryer, utilising the same 220-240V sockets fitted in the van. There is a changeover switch fitted (Inverter/Hookup) if I wanted to use EHU.
Totally satisfied with my setup, as it addresses my needs perfectly - I appreciate others have differing views, but it's all about personal choice and needs.

I do find this all somewhat confusing.
First, I have a 160 ah gel battery, about 12 months old,and one solar panel.
It's been fine, but now I have diesel heating, it can struggle.
Is it OK to add an extra battery? Or would I need to replace the existing one as well.
Secondly, I could add lithium and additional solar, but it's expensive on an old van, especially as I can't do it myself. Probably at least £1500.

A power pack would, I guess be between these options cost wise.

I have a Ninja 15 in one multi cooker. Could I run that?
I know the airfryer uses a lot, but what about the bake function, or slow cooker? Is that less power hungry.
I am full time, so currently need to be on campsites, to run the heating and 12volt charging. One night off grid will drag the battery down to a point the diesel heating won't fire up.
